A little reminder of Edmonton

So yesterday we had some hot weather.  We've actually been having tons of warm weather. It's been a great summer - definitely not one to complain about.

Anyways, late afternoon-supper hour it started to thunder and lightening.  It totally reminded me of being back in Edmonton. I had to chuckle though because it was funny to watch people sit out on their porches watching the storm.  It was like they hadn't experienced it before.  I admit it was  a little bittersweet.  I almost missed having those late afternoon thunderstorms.  The clouds were always so amazing to look at and then seeing the rain come!  And yes, we did get a lot of rain. Tim had been golfing in the afternoon and so they got a bit wet.

I woke up this morning to very, very humid weather and was not looking forward to joining my running group.  But, I tried to plug along on our 10K run.  It was tough for me and I was quite exhausted. But I did it!!

Last week we enjoyed the water slides at Cultus Lake along with my brother and his family.  It was a perfect day to be there and the kids just had a blast! So did the adults!! It was so refreshing and cooled us off.

We celebrated my mom's 66th birthday this past week.  I think she's fabulous for 66! She's in good shape and can keep up with my kids! And trust me, there are days when that's not easy!
This week we'll celebrate Tim's 43rd birthday!! Wow!! 43. Hard to believe.  I've got him a great b-day present and can't wait to give it to him. I'm pretty sure he'll like it too.

We've also taken the kids to Aldergrove Lake where they've had fun in the water and playing with their sand toys.

We've enjoyed walks at the beach & eating far too many ice cream cones! But that's what summer is all about right?

Well, that's it for now. Time to get some lunch for the kids.
Hope you have a great Sunday!

Awesome weather!

We're having a fabulous summer!!! Kids are enjoying the sun and the water as we try out different pools, water parks, little beach areas and, of course, the sprinkler. So fun!

I just ran 5K this morning so I'm feeling refreshed.  A bit worried though about my long run tomorrow morning. Last week we were only supposed to do 9K and it ended up being 11K.  Now that may not sound like a big leap to some of you but it most definitely is for me.  Tomorrow we're supposed to do the same so I'm hoping that I will feel good and not like I want to lie down on the sidewalk for a nap!!!

A short post today to just share some layouts and a card that I did this week.

It's awesome!!

Check out the new blog that Core'dinations has up! It's fabulous!! Of course, I'm not biased in any way! ;)
There's so many wonderful ideas and projects to get your creative juices flowing!

It's been a busy few days for me as I'm trying to work on some class projects for BC's Crop 4 Kids.  Class Registration starts tomorrow night and there's some great classes happening! If you're in the area you won't want to miss out on this fabulous event!

Here's some peeks at what I'll be teaching.
Christmas Card Class using Black River Designs patterned papers.

A mini album class using Paper Trunk papers, letter stickers, diecuts and chipboard pages from Midnight Oil Scrapbook Designs.

And last of all a layout class using a kit provided by Scrap Shotz. I'll be teaching a single page layout and one double page spread.

Just finished an 11K morning run. Ugh!! It was hot out there this morning and I was tired but I love the feeling afterwards. I feel so cleansed and refreshed even though the moment that I get up from this chair I may just land face first on the floor ('cause my legs are so stiff ... and yes!!! I stretched!!!)
I've been pretty good with my training for this 1/2 marathon that I'd like to do in October. But man!! It's a lot of work and time that you've got to be committed to.  Luckily my husband is very willing to watch the kids while I go and encourages me to go and keep on my schedule.  Yes, he's a good hubby! ;)

That's it for now. Hope you're having a great weekend!

Rainy day

It's been kind of rainy for the last few days. However I'm not complaining about it because it was quite hot a few days ago & I'm welcoming the cooler weather at this moment.

Just thought I'd share a few things that I've done in the last little while.
A few cards ....

and a frame that I've put in our family room.

Yes, it's all American Crafts!! I love that stuff!!!  It's so fun & vibrant, cheerful and just makes me happy.  So, yes! I am applying for their DT. How could I not.  I've actually done this the last 2 years.  I know - a glutten for punishment. LOL!
They've got some amazing new product coming out and I'm excited to see it reach my LSS.

Well, that's it for today. I need to finish up some projects now.
Have a great Wednesday!

He's home soon and Merry Christmas!!

Well, my hubby went away a few days ago for his 25th year high school reunion!!  I know! 25 years!!  He just called before he boarded the plane and said that he had a wonderful time!  I'm anxious to see him - as the kids have been a handful these last few days.  The heat probably didn't help with my patience level either!!

I'm thrilled to be designing for Black River Designs and this month we had a theme of Christmas in July.  You'll have to be sure to check out the BRD blog as there's a ton of amazing projects being posted throughout the month. It's been hot here so thinking about the cooler weather was actually a welcome thought!

Here's some cards that I made last night.

Well, I need to finish up with supper now as the kids are getting antsy!

July Reveal

Scrap Shotz July kit is amazing!!!  The design team has once again done an incredible job!  Check out there work in the Gallery.

I loved this kit - Little Yellow Bicycle, Traveler collection - it's fabulous!!! I loved the rub-ons and the embossed stickers are so much fun!

Here's a look at what I did with the kit.

We're enjoying some gorgeous weather right now. Gets a bit hot inside our house but we can't complain because it's been so nice.  Might take the kids for a little bike ride today.

Happy 4th of July to my US friends! Hope you have a wonderful holiday & enjoy the fireworks!

Check it out!

You've got to go on over to Core'dination's blog.  They've got a fabulous contest going on plus some of the DT have done some examples and they're awesome!!!
This cardstock is just amazing and the possibilities are astounding.  I'm constantly amazed at what some of these gals keep coming up with! They're so talented!

We had a great time on Canada Day!  Took the kids to Fort Langley where there was lots of family fun stuff happening and they had a great time.
In fact I couldn't wait to scrap some pictures from our day and I managed to get a layout done yesterday.

Supplies: American Crafts patterned paper, Thickers, rub-ons, stickers, sunflower embellishment and brads, Basic Grey white chipboard letters, Core'dinations cardstock, Fiskars border punch

It's another gorgeous day today - just waiting for one more kid to wake up though.  We just might hit the beach today.  (I love that the water is so close by now! ;))
Have a great day!!
