Thanks!!

I just wanted to say thanks so much to all of you that commented yesterday on my blog post! Wow! I'm so glad that you enjoyed the tips/instructions for the clear album.

A few of you asked me about the silicone "wand" that I used to wipe away the glitter. The gal who came up with this lives here in BC she's also created "Glitter Be Gone" mat that comes in 3 different colors. This thing is so cool as it removes glitter like magic!!

unknown.jpg

The "wand" isn't on the site yet as it's new but feel free to take a look at the site HERE.

Now I need to catch some more zzz's as I was up watching the Royal Wedding and I'm feeling a wee bit tired right now!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Imaginisce & Clear Scraps

I want to share a mini album with you that I created using Imaginisce (Splash Dance collection) and Clear Scraps Mixed album.
I admit that I've never made a "mini" album this size before so it was a bit of a challenge. This album is 6" x 12" which really leaves a lot to the imagination and use of a ton of photos!

I really like seeing through the clear page to the page behind so I wanted my cover to be fairly "clear".

When I put paper/embellishments on the clear page I always make sure that it looks good on the other side afterwards. So in order to do this you really need to do a bit of pre-planning. For my cover I decided to put long strips along the left edge. I adhered these onto the front cover and then repeated that process on this inside of the cover. This way it covers up any adhesive from showing on the other side. (*make sure to punch out any holes after doing the 1st side otherwise you won't be able to find them very well later).

Before I added a chipboard accent right on the center of my album I made sure to trace it first onto a piece of patterned paper. After adhering it to the front cover I then adhered the patterned paper piece on the inside cover to hide adhesive from the chipboard sticker.

To get the round circles of glitter on the front cover I used my Pogo glue dots. I just placed the Pogo stick on my album cover and pushed down to release a glue dot. (*you will notice the piece of paper underneath the cover ... this is for 2 reasons. One: so I could see what I was doing and Two: I drew circles on the piece of paper beforehand where I wanted the bubbles from the whale to be)
After placing the glue dots on the cover I then sprinkled glitter overtop of them. I did this one at a time so that I didn't have glitter everywhere. But I'm sure it would be fine to do a bunch all at once.
I then shook off the glitter & removed the excess with this nifty new tool a friend of mine has created. It's a silicone brush that removes glitter like a charm!
After creating all the glitter circles I then adhered some clear hot rocks on the cover.
I made the flowers using one of the new Roly Rosies-Paper flowers. Aren't they fabulous colors. I love 'em. (oh and Imaginisce will be having a big release party for these in May so mark that on your calendars!!)

I added the punched layers (waves) on the inside of the cover as well. On the chipboard page I sprayed the edges with Glimmer Mist and outlined them with a white gel pen, then added a few more rhinestones here & there. After adhering the paper to the chipboard pages I used my d-stress tool to sand around the scallops and it just finished it off perfectly.

Here's the front cover (with photo added on inside page) and the inside pages.

Supplies used: Imaginisce (Splash Dance collection paper, chipboard, stickers, rub-ons, ribbon), i-rock tool and Glam Rocks, d-stress tool), Core'dinations cardstock, Clear Scraps album

If you just popped by my blog and haven't had a chance to check out the Imaginisce blog - please make sure you do so. Cause there's an awesome prize give away. You could have a chance to win an i-rock, i-rock accessories, and a Clear Scraps Mini Handbook album!!!

Here's a few more projects that I've created.

For this fun birthday card I used my Cricut and Wild Card cartridge to cut the cake shape card. I then finished it off by adding some Glitter Hot Rocks in white - they're fabulous and come in a compact full of other colors (black, red, green, cream/tan, pink & blue). I love them!
Here's a close up shot.

Supplies used: Imaginisce (i-rock tool and Glam Rocks, patterned paper), Core'dinations Cardstock, Cricut, Wild Card cartridge, Cuttlebug embossing folder

The other project I did was to decorate a pillow for my daughter's room. I added some clear Hot Rocks & some pink one using the Large Flourish stencil.
This was the perfect addition to the pillow and looks great in her room.

Supplies used: Imaginisce (i-rock tool and Hot Rocks, stencil, flowers and large rhinestone brad), pillow case (Michaels)

He is Risen

He is risen indeed!!!

What a wonderful day today is! Today we celebrate that Christ rose from the grave.
The other day I went for a run/walk and was listening to some music as I ran and some of the words of the songs almost brought me to tears as I realized the price that Christ paid for me. The fact that He rose from the dead now means that I will have eternal life with Him one day. What an incredible gift! Thank you Lord.

We'll be heading to church this morning to celebrate this day and then we're looking forward to brunch with family. It's always a wonderful time together.

On Friday (as I'd mentioned earlier) we colored some eggs with the kids. I tried something different. If you put oil, vinegar, food coloring and water in a glass all mixed up you can get a marbelized effect on your eggs. It's pretty cool. And it probably would have worked better had I remembered to tell the kids that after each dip into a color they needed to wipe the egg with a paper towel. Oh well, they had fun and their hands were well moisturized afterwards!!

Kailyn & her cousin also baked some cupcakes on Friday. They had fun doing that. Plus they were very yummy!

I wanted to remind you that starting tomorrow (and Tues & Wed) Imaginisce is having 3 days of fabuous projects as we reveal some of the new i-rocks!!! There's going to be many fabulous projects shown .... plus I'm sure there will be some give aways as well (as Imaginisce is always so great at that!) So don't forget to check it out!!

Happy Easter.

Good Friday

Hi there!
Just wanted to share with you a few Easter-y things that I've made.

The first is a card using my Cricut & Spring Holiday Cards cartridge.
Supplies used: Core'dinations cardstock, Queen & Co pearls, ribbon, Cuttlebug embossing folders, Cricut, Spring Cards cartridge

This is a napking ring that I made. Super easy & super fun way to decorate your dinner table for this season.

Supplies Used: Core'dinations cardstock (Core Essentials, Gemstones & Whitewash collection), Fiskars punches & paper crimper, other: cloth napkin

I love Fridays because it means the weekend is here!
But this day ... more than any other ... marks a special moment for me. Christ died for me! Today is a day where I remember Christ's suffering on the cross to free me from my sins & so that I can live eternally with him one day. I often have a hard time wrapping my mind around the fact that He did this for me. Someone so not worthy of that. I've failed Him so many times and in so many ways. I can't even begin to thank the Lord enough for what He's done for me. I am forever grateful.

There's an old song that goes something like this:

You did not wait for me – to draw near to You
But You clothed Yourself with frail humanity

You did not wait for me – to cry out to You
But You let me hear Your voice calling me

And I’m for – ev – er grateful to You
I’m for – ev – er grateful for the cross
I’m for – ev – er grateful to You
That You came
To seek and save the lost

As for traditions in our family, my kids have enjoyed dying eggs. So that's on our agenda for today. A symbol of new life. Love that!
I'll post some pics of that later (if they turn out!)

Have a wonderful day!

Another new sketch & Release Week at Imaginisce

Today another sketch is revealed on Club Got Sketch.

Again Valerie has done an awesome job. I decided to rotate the sketch in order to work with my photos.

I can't believe that we only have 3 more sketches to go and then we're done! The time has just flown by and I've loved every sketch. I'm always challenged with those double pagers though - but that's a good thing as I need a bit of a challenge and it's fun to use a whack load of photos as well.

Supplies used: Core'dinations Cardstock, Basic Grey (patterned papers, die-cut stickers), Fiskars border punch, 3L (foam squares & tape runner)

Hope you had a great weekend. We had some beautiful weather and I thoroughly enjoyed seeing the sunshine here!

Mark your calendars - next week Imaginisce will be having another release party for the new I-rock embellishments and you won't want to miss seeing those!! They're fabulous!
Plus on Thursday & Friday (21st & 22nd) the Imaginisce blog will be sharing some projects using Clear Scraps albums - the Design Team will share examples of how they've used various Imaginisce tools on the acrylic albums... and trust me ... this is another 2 days you don't want to miss.

Little Cutie ... more girl projects

Hi again,

The projects are still going strong over at the Imaginisce blog. The Design Team worked hard creating many wonderful projects using the "Little Cutie" collection.
Yesterday I shared projects using the boy themed papers and today I'm happy to share some projects that I made using some of the girl themed products.

This 1st one is an altered canvas.
I took a plain white 8x8 canvas and painted the edges (and approx 2" in) with cream acrylic paint. Let it dry.
Then I took some patterned paper & cut it slighter smaller than the canvas size. I used my distressing tool around the edges and then inked them with a yellow ink pad. I then used my Cricut and some Core'dinations cardstock to cut out the purple & white scalloped frame. I embossed the white piece using my Cuttlebug.

I decided to make this for my daughter's room and used her initials on it. I cut out the "K" and "M" from some patterned paper. For the large "L" I printed an L shape out on white paper to use as my template. I then covered it with small punched out flowers, buttons, flowers and used my i-top to make small and medium sized brads. I then used my i-bond and some of the glitter glue (purple) and added a dot of glue to the purple patterned punched flowers. I finished my project off my adhering some rhinestones using the i-rock too.

Supplies used: Imaginisce (Little Cutie collection, i-rock tool, i-top tool, brad daddies (16mm and 22mm), Core'dinations cardstock, acrylic paint, 3L (foam squares), Colorbox fluid chalk ink, Cricut, Cuttlebug & embossing folder

My next project I made these little booties. I've seen these before and always wanted to make them and this was the perfect time.

I found this template online (*see template links near end of post). I traced the design onto my paper and adhered the shoes into shape. I used my i-top tool to make 2 brads, adhered them to a purple flowers and attached these to the sides of the booties. I then used my i-rock tool to add 3 rhinestones to the center of each brad. I used my i-bond to adhere some white rick rack to the inside of each bootie as well. Still wanting to add a bit more I decided to cut out a yellow flower from the patterned paper and added that to the top/front of each bootie.

Here's some close-up shots.
Supplies used: Imaginisce (Little Cutie collection, i-rock tool, i-top tool, brad daddies (16mm), flowers), Colorbox ink pad, 3L (foam squares)

If you're interested in creating these little booties here's a few links to check out with templates and instructions.

Thanks for stopping by and if you haven't done so already make sure to pop by the Imaginisce blog to check out the amazing projects that the Design Team has created! They're fabulous! Plus don't forget to leave a comment there for a chance to win an amazing Imaginisce prize!!! (I don't mind your comments either! ;) I read every ONE of them!!! )

Little Cutie Release Party at Imaginisce

As I mentioned yesterday, Imaginisce is having a week-long release party for the new collection "Little Cutie".

Today we are sharing the "boy" collection from this release. I loved this collection when I saw it in person. It's so warm & cozy you could just feel as if you're holding a new born. ..... ok, you know what I mean right? ;)
I created a few projects with this collection and I'll share them with you now.

The first one is a simple card.

Supplies used: Imaginisce (patterned papers, diecut shape, stamp, i-rock tool and Glam Rocks), Core'dinations cardstock, Divine Twine (yellow), 3L (foam squares), EK Success border punch, Versafine ink pad (black)

This next project I decided to cover a diaper wipe container. I used the container as my template and traced the shape onto the backside of the patterned paper. Cut the shape out and glue it onto the wipe container. I then covered it with Mod Podge (I only had a matte finish kind but I think the glossy would have looked better. :)) I then took some white rick rack and adhered that around the edge of the container. I finished it off by cutting out the "title" from a piece of the patterned paper & adhering it behind a chipboard piece from the collection. I then adhered some glam rocks (to look like brads).

Supplies used: Imaginisce (Little Cutie: patterned paper, chipboard, i-rock tool and Glam Rocks), white rick rack. Mod Podge, Helmar adhesives

The last project I created was a layout. However, I took a different spin on this collection because I have scrapped many baby photos in my time and ... well, I just wanted to step out of the box a bit on this one so I created a layout about my 6-year old and my nephew.

I did a little bit of embossing on the corners of the Core'dinations cardstock by placing the cardstock in the embossing folder and then using a stylus to push down on the design. I then sanded the embossed design with the Sand It Gadget and cleaned off the dust with the Dust Buddy.
Supplies used: Imaginisce (Little Cutie: papers, die-cuts,chipboard), Core'dinations cardstock, Sanding Gadget & Dust Buddy from Core'dinations, 3L (foam squares), Cuttlebug embossing folder, EK Sucess border punch and Fiskars border punch

Thanks so much for stopping by!! Now make sure you head on over to the Imaginisce blog to check out all the wonderful projects .... plus leave a comment for a chance to win a fabulous prize package from Imaginisce!!!
