Wow! This week just zipped by!
I'm still trying to keep up with my running and went out several times. Wednesday nights we're doing hills and this past week it was 5 times up & down this "wonderful" hill. I seriously thought I was going to die when I went up the 4th time. I told myself that was it and I really can't do it another time.
So as I'm walking back down and nearing the starting line a lady comes by me (another runner) and asks me if this was my last one and I said "yes". So she offered to run it with me meaning this would be her 6th! (yikes!!!) So I'm thinking "Oh great! now I really have to do it!"
I ran my little steps. I breathed the way I was supposed. I thought I was going to puke. I was wheezing & making strange noises. I pushed myself so hard.
I just wish that I could get to the point where I can say to myself "I can do this!" I'm still at the- "I'm not going to make it! They're going to have to carry me back!" - stage.
Last night I enjoyed a girls night out with my SIL, my mom and one of her girlfriends. We went to see Julia & Julie. It was a fabulous movie! I love it! I really liked the fact these 2 ladies husband just adored them and supported them in everything that they did. Then we went out for dinner afterwards to Earls. I was so stuffed afterwards but had a great time out.
This afternoon I went shopping with my mom. Nice. Relaxing. Peaceful - 'cause of no kids. ;) I even bought myself a skirt and my mom treated me with a sweater & top to match. I love my new outfit!

ReplyDeleteFabulous pages - love what you did with the papers and the core'dinations! Been there done that on the running - now I just walk - my body thanks me - but I missing running!
ReplyDeletebeautiful layouts, as usual!!
ReplyDeleteReading about your hill training...brings back memories to my first round of that. Not fun, but some crazy memories from those nights. I do remember running a hill in our route after a few hill sessions, and was amazed at the improvement. It was worth it! Good luck to you and your training.
Roxanne (from Edmonton....took a couple of your classes at US)
Love your layouts, Cari and the cute cards too! I can't believe that you 'think' you are still in the 'I can't do it' phase! Look how much you have achieved!!!! I bet you said 'I can't do it' way back when you started first too. You CAN do it and in fact, HAVE done it. I couldn't run from here to the end of my driveway :-). I could walk 20k but DON'T ask me to run. In fact, the thoughts of it makes me need to sit down. Right now.
