I Love My Family!

I had a blast working with Adornit's wonderful paper collections and today I'm wrapping up my GD spot with them on their blog.

This is a home decor project that I created with "Family Patchwork".

I first created this shadow box frame using my Silhouette Cameo and some white card stock.  After assembling the frame together I simply cut up some patterned papers and adhered them into the various boxes of the frame.

I also added 2 family photos but kept them in black & white because I didn't want to take away from the colours of the collection (and the colours in my photos wouldn't have matched either).

I embellished the box with some of the die cuts, stickers and wooden embellishments.

Here's another look at the full frame.

I hope I've inspired you to create some home decor project of your own.

.... and don't forget about the Giveaway I'm hosting!!  You could win a collection pack of Family Patchwork!

Guest Designing with Adornit - Day 2

Hi there!

So glad you popped by again today because I've got another layout to share with you.
If you missed my post yesterday you can find it HERE.

I'm honored to be Guest Designer this week on the Adornit blog.  They have so many amazing products from scrapbooking, fabrics, clothing items and wooden shapes!

I created this one using Adornit's collection called Timberland Critters.

I love the chevron designs and the rich, warm colours of this release.
I chose to use a photo of my youngest child.

The designs of the patterned papers make it very easy to create a layout and I was able to create this page in 30 minutes!  Again just adding a few layers with some patterned paper, a journal card and a title card.

I love stitching but never ever do it myself so I really like the little zig zag strip stickers in this collection. I used along the top & bottom edges of the red patterned paper. It seems to add a bit of texture even though it's just a sticker.

Isn't it a cute collection?
I think so, too!

Giveaway Alert!

If you missed my post yesterday I want to let you know that I'm having a giveaway here on my blog.
Hop on over to yesterday's post for your chance to win a collection pack of Family Patchwork! (details of the giveaway are posted there).

I'm Guest Designer today!

Hi there!

I'm super excited that you've joined me today as I'm guest designing for Adornit this week.  I was thrilled when they asked if I'd like to be featured and they sent me 3 fabulous collections.

Today I'm sharing this layout on the Adornit Blog. I created using the "Family Patchwork" collection.

When I opened up the collection called "Family Patchwork" I fell instantly in love. The colours and patterns are beautiful.  I decided to create a layout about my children and their cousins because there were a few little phrases that fit perfectly with my photos.

I created a few layers with patterned paper & stickers.  I also used a few stickers which I adhered to my page using some foam squares for added dimension.

I love the wooden embellishments because they add a fun texture and look.

One of the wooden 'stems' I used as a flag pole to attach some stickers/pennants.
