6 YEARS AGO TODAY ...

... our first child was born. This is the picture of us the day that we brought her home from the hospital. I still remember it as if it were yesterday. I felt so yucky and desperately wanted a shower but there was no way that I could pass our precious gift from God to anyone at that moment. I wanted to hold her forver!
I'm just getting all teary-eyed just looking at how small she was! Wow! Time has flown.
Not only is it her birthday today but Kailyn also started Grade 1 today. Such a big day for her! She was pretty excited about it all too.
I was up early this morning having my devotions and who should come behind me at 6:45 am holding on to her clothes all ready to get dressed & go but Kailyn. It was rather cute.

Well, we got the gang all dressed and fed and ready to take Kailyn to her first day of Gr.1. What an adventure! She just went in the classroom, sat down as if she was used to it all ready. I was very proud of her for not being shy or scared. Unlike the poor little boy with his parents down the hall. He was just screaming and crying and I caught the mother's eye as she had to leave the building. It was so hard for her to see her son like that. Made me cry too.

Anyways, on to Kailyn's day. After dropping her off at school I took the boys to the store to pick up a few things for her family party with just us. When we were getting back into the van Ryan asked if we were going to go and pick Kailyn up already. It had only been 1 hour!! Poor little guy was missing his big sister already. I had to tell him that she was gone all day and wouldn't be home for lunch this year like she did in Kindergarten. Well, he didn't like that idea too much either!
So, I had a little cling-on this afternoon. But it was fun! We baked some cupcakes, wrapped some presents and washed the dishes together. A nice bonding time for the two of us! Which doesn't always happen with the middle one.

And, now ... I'm pooped! Off to go and relax on the couch for a little bit.
