Oh Girls Just Wanna Fun!!! (and some class peeks)

So, my dear daughter turned 12 this month and she's been wanting to have an 80's themed birthday party.   I think it's rather funny because, of course none of the girls have a clue about the 80's. Anyways, we did it.

The girls all came dressed in their 80's clothes and they looked super cute.  With their hair up in high ponytails, leggings, legwarmers, big hoop earrings ... hmmm... aren't we seeing this again now??  Funny how fashion always makes it's way around again 20 years later just a bit more refined, shall we say.

I spent days working on a cake - yes, I'm rather insane but I'm actually quite happy with how it turned out.  I made a Rubik's cube cake. It was about 6" x 6" and it had 4 layers filled with yummy Buttercream frosting.

I cut the squares on the outside of the cake from fondant and used the Imaginisce CutRight Acrylic Ruler and CutBright LED Rotary Cutter.   It was by no means perfect when it was done but my daughter was happy ... and that's all that mattered.

Here's the finished product. Most likely - unsolvable!! (and like i said ... not perfect but definitely edible.)

They played several games of Boggle (that was my favorite board game when I was younger as I always won ... that was until I met my husband and then he always beat me!!)

After the board games the girls tie dyed some t-shirts.  We'll rinse them out tomorrow and I'm looking forward to seeing how they turned out.

Plus she had fun opening presents and now can't wait to go shopping!!

Now I'm back to writing up instructions and kitting for classes that I'll be teaching in October.  Fun stuff.
Here's a peek at some classes I'll be teaching in October at Scrapbook Central at a retreat with some other talented ladies! Cropober Fall Retreat.

This one is a Christmas Card class using Imaginisce's "Christmas Cheer" collection
and Core'dinations Colorcore Cardstock.

This fun christmas card class is created using Simple Stories "Handmade Holdiay" collection
and Core'dinations Colorcore cardstock.

A layout workshop where we'll create 2 single paged layouts and 1 double page using
Simple Stories "Harvest Lane" collection and Core'dinations Colorcore cardstock.

And finally , this workshop we will create a darling holiday wreath and
some tags using Simple Stories "Handmade Holiday" collection.

Anyways, that's it for my weekend news.

Hope you're having a great weekend.
