Winter Village

Hi there!
I'm so happy that you stopped by my blog today because I'm super excited to share this little project with you.

I love the holidays! And Christmas has to be one of my favourites times because I love being with my family.

I created my project for Xyron's 30 Days of Holiday Project.

First of all, I wanted to create something unique and fun that would fit somewhere in my home this holiday season.
So when I came across THIS Silhouette file and THIS one I know right away that I wanted to create these.

A darling mini Winter Village.

The buildings are approx. 2 1/2" wide and 3 1/2" tall.

I began by cutting out all of the pieces to form the little village from some of the "Magical"collection of Studio Calico patterned papers. I cut the roofs & trees from the Crafter's Companion 6x6 Snow White Pearl cardstock which had a bit of a glimmer to it already. It's very pretty.

Roof:
1. I took the 3 white roofs and Crafter's Companion 6x6 Snowflake Embossalicious Embossing folder and embossed the roofs.

2.  I then ran them through the Xyron 5" Creative Station (with the snowflake design facing UP).

3. I didn't peel the cardstock off yet but rather trimmed around the edges. I then placed it through the Xyron 5" Creative Station again this time with the snowflake design on the BOTTOM.
I then peeled off the top sheet (from the snowflake design) and sprinkled some Stampendous Multi Crystal glitter overtop.

tip: I rubbed the glitter in with my finger to make it sure it was down securely and I won't find a whole heap of glitter around my home later on!

Trees:
I followed the same steps (#1- 3) for the white trees by running them through the machine 2 times and applying the glitter. (I ended up adding glitter to both side of the trees because when they are folded you will see both sides of the cardstock)

I then put a piece of 3/16" High Tack Adhesive Dots on the backside (down the center) of the tree. I then adhered the matching tree overtop and folded the edges along the perforated marks.

I repeated this with the 2 other trees.

Houses:
I used the 1/4" High Tack Double-Sided Tape to adhere the building together.

I then peeled off the white layer from each roof and adhere them to the buildings.

The church one was a bit different as there was an extra piece to add on. (steeple)  The High Tack Tape and Adhesive Dots were used to put that together and attach to the roof.

And there you have it!
My little Winter Village.
