Happy Sailing!

This past summer we took our kids to Steveston Harbor and watched the pirate ships in the harbor. They were sailing around and having mock battles. The kids thought it was fun when you could see the smoke from the canons. We had a great time walking around the area too.

Here's the layout that I created from that days' events. (I used a sketch by Valerie Salmon for this layout.)

Supplies used: Paper Trunk (Socialite colection & Benny alpha stickers), Core'dinations Cardstock, Imaginisce Glam Rocks (black), buttons, 3L (foam squares & tape runner), Cricut Expression & Birthday Bash cartridge (for banners), Paper Dolls Dressup (for ship), Divine Twine (turquoise)

Argh!!! Have a super day!

Punky Sprouts & Paper Trunk team up!!!

I'm not sure if you've been following both the Punky Sprouts & Paper Trunk blogs but last week and this week we've teamed up together to share some fabulous projects. We'd love for you to check them out.

Today I'm sharing my album on Paper Trunk's blog but I'll share some pics here too. (you can check the PT blog though for close up shots and details on the products that I used.)

I love their albums as they've got great designs and add such fun shapes. I bound mine together with my Bind-it-all machine instead of the metal rings.
So please ... make sure to stop over at both of these blogs. I KNOW that they'd love to see your comments! ;)

Have a great Tuesday!

Imaginisce's Bon Voyage Release Party & Got Sketch Express 2 - Sketch #1

Today the Imaginisce blog is having a release party for the new Bon Voyage collection. If you haven't seen it then you need to hop on over to the Imaginisce website and check it out!

It's a fabulous travel line perfect for any vacation - but it's perfect for just about anything as you will clearly see from the variety of projects that the Design Team will be sharing for this entire week.

*****

Valerie Salmon has created a sketch blog called Got Sketch. She provides fantastic sketches that you can use for inspiration when creating your own layouts. I love them!
She has done various classes before and I was thrilled to take part in Club Got Sketch this past summer.

She now has another one called Got Sketch Express 2 and it starts today.
So sketch #1 is up!!
If you've registered you've seen the awesome sketch that Valerie has created.
If you haven't registered you really should!! You will be so happy with the sketches.

Here's my take on Sketch #1.

The black cardstock is from the new Core'dinations Spotted collection and comes pre-embossed with dots everywhere! I love it! I just sanded around the edge of the paper design on some of the dots to create a border effect.

Supplies used: Core'dinations new Spotted cardstock, Paper Trunk (Jellybean collection patterned papers, letter stickers, Maya Road sheer journal circle, some K&Company chipboard pieces, Divine Twine (turquoise), Ek Success border punch

Happy Monday & Hope you have a great week!

Paper Trunk, Core'dinations and Got Sketch!

Busy post today!!

This is a fabulous match - just perfect for each other. Throughout this past month Paper Trunk and Core'dinations have been sharing layouts from both design teams. Wonderful projects have been shared on both websites.

I'm thrilled to be a part of both of these wonderful companies. Today I'm sharing a post on Paper Trunk. I'll just share a peek because I'd love for you to pop over to the Paper Trunk Blog and check it out in full.

I had so much fun scrapbooking these photos of my son eating watermelon as it is his ultimate favorite fruit ever!! He could probably eat an entire watermelon himself (if I let him!)!

Hope you're enjoying your summer. My kids only have a few more weeks left before school starts. I have mixed feelings about all of that however. But it will be good to get back into routine that's for sure.

Now, on to Got Sketch!
If you ever need some good scrappy inspiration then you must check out Valerie Salmon's Got Sketch blog. I'm always thrilled when she asks me to participate because I just love her sketches. They truly inspire me and help me to use a lot of pictures on one layout (something I don't normally do.)

So today she has posted a new sketch - you can check it out HERE.
And here is my take on her fabulous sketch.

Supplies used: Core'dinations cardstock, October Afternoon (striped paper), SRM stickers, Paper Trunk (white alpha stickers), Making Memories (black alpha stickers), American Crafts Thickers, rick rack (black), Cuttlebug embossing folder

So for now, that's all I have to share! Please make sure to pop over to the PT blog for my full reveal and check out all the wonderful sketches over at the Got Sketch blog.

Paper Trunk goodness!

I had so much fun playing with the adorable embellishments that Wendy Hammer Designscreated to go along with the Paper Trunk Jellybean collection. They were just the perfect addition.

I created this page about one of our family traditions - Ice Cream Cone Day ... in honour of my Grandpa because he loved ice cream cones. I used the round embellishments with my name tags & design above the title. I also added one of the felt designs on my layout. The title I created with my Cricut using the Birthday Bash cartridge.

I also created this little card using one of the felt paisley designs - I decided to use it for a wing on the bird and added one of the round designs for the bird's eye.

Supplies used: Paper Trunk (Jellybean papers) Wendy Hammer Designs (felts & clay designs), Core'dinations cardstock, Black pen (American Crafts), Cricut, Birthday Bash Cricut Cartridge, Spellbinders die (Bird), Chatterbox stamp, Divine Twine (Green)

Thanks for stopping by!

One more peek ... and a touch of summer!

Well, Core'dinations has totally blown me away with their releases for CHA this year! I just love each & every collection!!

Here's another one.

Coredinations has teamed up with Tim Holtz & Ranger Ink to bring out this amazing collection of sandable, distressable cardstock that coordinates with the full line of Distress & Adirondack products. Pretty cool huh?

You have a chance to win this too - just click HERE to take you to the contest page.

Today was my day to post over at Paper Trunk. I decided to create a summer themed page because we've had so much rain lately and I needed a bit of sunshine!

Here's a peek. Now you'll have to hop on over there to the PT blog to see the rest of my layout. ;)

Have a great weekend!

'Tis the Season

... for making Christmas cards. I actually made some this year as I didn't have the time last year and just sent out a bunch that I'd made from teaching classes.
But this year I made a bunch - all the same - so I enjoyed having an assembly production. It was so much easier.

Here's a look at the card that I made.
Supplies used: Core'dinations cardstock, Stampin' Up (stamp & punch), twine (Martha Stewart), rhinestones (Imaginisce adhered using the i-rock tool), Cuttlebug embossing folder, EK Success (corner rounded punch)

I made some other Christmas cards using Paper Trunk's Krafty collection. It's such a great collection for mixing with a variety of collection and is so versatile for a wide range of themes as well. Please make sure to check the Paper Trunk's blog for my post today.

Here's a look at the 2 cards I created for my post over there.
Supplies used: Paper Trunk (Krafty collection), Core'dinations cardstock, ribbon, stamps (Hero Arts), punches (EK Success), lace (Prima)

Don't forget to keep checking Imaginisce blog - Christmas Inspiration days are still going on over there and great prizes are to be won!
Plus over at the Core'dinations blog today begins our fabulous week with Graphic 45 Core Impressions and Graphic 45 papers. It's going to be fabulous!!
And the 12 days continue over at myStampBOX as well - so make sure to check that out too!!

Never a dull moment during this busy month!! So grab a cup of coffe & Enjoy!

Guest Blogging today

I have the privilege of being the guest blogger over at Paper Trunk today.
Here's what I created but please make sure that you head on over there to check the blog out.

Supplies used: Paper Trunk (Krafty collection and Socialite papers), Core'dinations cardstock, Scenic Route chipboard circles, American Craft brads, rick rack, black string

I also created a layout for The Inspired Scrapbooker today as well. Our challenge was a color one based on this picture.
I absolutely loved this picture, the colors, the basic grid design - all of it!!!
So I chose to use the photo placement for the design on my layout and the colors ... well, they are just so gorgeous that I used those as well.

Supplies used: Imaginisce (Birthday Bash collection of papers and rub-ons), Core'dinations (Stacy Julian turquoise cardstock), Fiskars punch, A Little Bit of Whimsy (button), brown Divine Twine (Steam Trunk)

Have a wonderful weekend.

It's Friday!!

Yeah!!! It's the weekend!

Well, another full week of the kids being in school. I think I'm still adjusting to the fact there they are all gone all day. It's so wonderfully quiet! Sometimes it almost feels strange, to be honest.

I was able to finally sit and scrapbook this morning (because I've just been busy running around doing errands, kitting for the weekend and cleaning all week.) So it felt good to create something.

I worked on a layout for my blog post for Paper Trunk next week. I can't show you now 'cause that wouldn't be right. But I can show you a little peek.
Now you'll just have to wait until next Friday to see the whole thing - make sure to check it out on Paper Trunk's blog.

Hope you have a fabulous weekend!!

Paper Trunk goodness!

I hope that you 've been checking out the Paper Trunk blog lately as the DT gals have been posting some fabulous projects over the summer. If you haven't had the chance to check it out make sure you do now. Here's a link to the blog.

Plus Paper Trunk has teamed up with My Memories Suite to produce this fabulous digital collection. "It's Your Life." Doesn't it look wonderful? All you have to do is add your photos and you're done. So for those of you who don't have a lot of time to spend scrapbooking and you hate to figure out how to add embellishments or where to place your photos - it's all done for you. The color combo is perfect for any season and occasion. Plus you could make a year in review type album using the wonderful monthly digital stamps that are included in the kit.

Here's a couple of pages that Carrie Postma (Paper Trunk owner & designer) created using this kit.

I love them and think they're so crisp and clean! What a fun way to create a quick & easy album. Check it out and let Paper Trunk know what you think by posting on their blog.

Have a great day!

Can't believe it's been a week since I last wrote here. Summer is busy and that's good. Although the last few days the weather hasn't been as hot as it was. But I think things are looking up for the rest of the week.

Just wanted to share that I'm posting today on the Paper Trunk blog. CLICK HERE for my post.
And I'll just share a couple of peeks as it wouldn't be fair if I showed it all ... now would it? You'll just have to head on over to the blog to find out more.

I was excited earlier this week to get an email from Scrapbook Trends requesting a mini album for their new Mini Albums issue that's coming out! I love this album and just was so happy that they asked for it!

Tomorrow is my mom & dad's wedding anniversary.
Happy 43rd Anniversary Mom & Dad! I love you both very much!
