A few things to share & Happy Birthday!

Boy! It's been a busy few weeks.  I've been working hard on some new class projects and I wish I could share some peeks with you but I'll have to wait a bit longer.  It's always hard because I get so excited about them and want to share them.  They're for BC's Creative Expo here in October.  I've also been working on some classes for Crop 4 Kids which is also in October.  Those I can share with you but I haven't taken pictures yet! I know - big teases huh? Sorry.

I can't believe that my kids have been out of school for 2 weeks now and tomorrow is Canada Day!! I'm looking forward to the celebrations and hoping to take the kids to do some fun activities tomorrow.  It looks like it's going to be a gorgeous week so that's even better!
In honor of Canada's b-day and my fellow Americans who will be celebrating a birthday in a few days as well I made this little birthday card.

Supplies: Cosmo Cricket Mr Campy patterned paper, chipboard and sticker shapes; Marvy Uchida punches (scallop oval and oval), twill (unknown)

Here's another card that I made last month for a friend's birthday.
Supplies: Cosmo Cricket patterned paper, Core'dinations cardstock, twill, acrylic (Bazzill Basics), Cuttlebug embossing template, rhinestones (KaiserCraft), Fiskars border punch

While I'm here I thought I'd share a few more layouts (some old, some new).  I may not be around for a few days - busy with kids and scrappy assignments.  Plus it's just so hard to be inside when it's so nice outside!
I love this picture of my youngest.  It was such a hot day at the park, the kids faces were beat red from the heat but that didn't stop any of them. He had a blast on the swing and was just grinning from ear to ear!
Supplies: Cosmo Cricket Cogsmo patterned paper & chipboard shapes, American Crafts Thickers, Sakura white gelly roll pen, Bazzill Basics cardstock

This is typical of my 8 - almost 9 year-old daughter.  Getting those nice ("normal") smiles these days isn't always easy.
Supplies: Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday patterned papers & Mr Campy chipboard shapes, American Crafts Thickers, Basic Grey chipboard letters, American Crafts black pen

And here's one of my youngest - just being himself!!
Supplies: Cosmo Cricket Li'l Man collection, American Crafts chipboard

Well, that's it for now. Make sure to check Scrap Shotz tomorrow because it's the DT's BIG REVEAL with the July and trust me ... you won't want to miss it!! This kit was just awesome to work with!! I can't wait to share my projects.
So until next time ... HAPPY CANADA DAY!!!

Some things to share.

Well, today was the kids last day of school!! I can't believe they're finished already. I took them out for lunch to celebrate because they were done at noon! I'm looking forward to spending time with them this summer going to the beach, the water slides, little mini trips and just hanging out!

Here's a layout that I did for Core'dinations.
I used Black Magic (Ala Kazam), Core Essentials (Mantis, Blue Lightning), Whitewash (Butterchurn). I embossed the Whitewash and then used a Fiskars border punch. On the green cardstock I embossed it with a Cuttlebug embossing template and then lightly sanded it.
I'm hoping to get some strawberries tomorrow so that I can make some yummy jam and of course ... eat fresh strawberries all day long!!!
Have a great weekend!

Been busy!

The kids enjoyed a Sports Day this past Friday at school.  They had a great time trying all the different stations.  My hubby & I went to watch (and I took some pictures) and we couldn't help but comment about the activities.  When we were kids we loved having sports where you'd race and do the running long jumps, etc. Remember those things?  Now, I know they're trying to be aware of kids feelings but honestly ... these children wanted to compete against one another and win!!!  Oh well ... at least they had fun!

We then took them to the beach for the afternoon because they had early dismissal.  It was just a perfect day!

Yesterday, JJ enjoyed his last t-ball session - I'm not sure if he really understood it all but he had fun!
We then enjoyed the afternoon at the park/water park.  It was a hot day and the water really cooled everyone off!

I worked on a little teacher project for The Inspired Scrapbooker.  This will be a little gift for Kailyn's teacher. I can't believe that the kids are finished school this coming Friday!! Wow!! Time has just flown by.  They've done really well and I'm so happy that they adjusted to our move so easily. That's truly a blessing from God.

Have a great evening!

Happy Saturday!

Well, we all enjoyed a nice relaxing morning and a chance to sleep in!
We had such a fun day yesterday as Kailyn & Ryan's school went to Cultus Lake water slides!  It was a blast and the weather was just perfect!! We're already looking forward to going back in the summer sometime.
I wish I had pictures to share but I decided not to take my camera.  I wasn't too keen on just leaving alone when I went on the water slides with the kids. So ... next time I'll have to take it with me.

Just wanted to share a couple of layouts that I did.  I was asked to be Guest Designer for the month of June for Riff Raff Designs.  I was super excited because they are a Canadian company (in Edmonton!) and they make these awesome laser cut chipboard designs! They've got amazing stuff!!
"Ocean View"
I lightly painted the chipboard with a cream colored paint.  Then I sprayed them with Tattered Angels mists - 2 different colors and sponged it off a little bit with a paper towel.
"Father"
On this layout I just left the chipboard raw as I liked the look with the papers.
Well, that's about it from me.
Have a wonderful weekend!

Reveal day!

It's that time again.  Time to show off what the DT has done with the June Kit at Scrap Shotz! This was such an awesome kit and I loved playing with it.
Check out what the Design Team did HERE!  They worked their magic yet again!!

Here's what I came up with.
"Hi" Card
"The 3 Amigos"
"My Sweet Things"
"Girls and the Ocean"

It looks like it's going to be another hot one here today and tomorrow even more so! I've been enjoying taking the kids to the water parks after school ... and I'm sure they have too.  It really helps to cool them off.
Well, that's it for now. Have a fabulous day!!
