Enjoying family

It's been so nice to just enjoy being with family these last few days. The kids are enjoying playing with their new toys and games. I must admit, though, that the late nights are catching up with me and I'm feeling quite tired today.
I just finished up tidying up my scraproom ('cause it was a disaster before Christmas) and I have a new scrapping light (from my sweet hubby) and I love it! So nice & bright and now I'll enjoying scrapping at night more.

Here's some pics from the last few days. (sorry pics are small)
The kids on Christmas Eve.

Playing with my camera and the lights on our tree.
I'll share more later. Off to get supper ready.
Hope you're enjoying your holidays with family & friends.

Merry Christmas!

I doubt that I'll be around for the next few days as things here will be pretty busy. So I just wanted to wish everyone a Blessed Christmas season .

I love this time of year!! It's my favorite. The colored lights, the smells of delicious baked goods, the wrapped presents, etc (although I hate shopping right now so I'm thankful that I'm done!) I'm so excited to spend time with family and share with each other what's really important during this season. The birth of my Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ.

I'll leave you with a layout that I created for Core'dinations.

Supply list: Core'dinations cardstock (the embossed cardstock is Jenni Bowlin Core'), Jenni Bowlin (patterned paper and circle alpha stickers), Jillibean ribbon, Queen & Co. felt border & rhinestones, corner rounded punch (EK Success)

Merry Christmas!

Have you sent out your Christmas cards yet???

I ask this question as I hang in my head in shame! I still am working on them and they will definitely be sent out late this year. Sorry everyone!

However, speaking of cards I wanted to let you know that I still have 2 Card kits left. "Merry & Bright". Everything is included in the kit (all you need are scissors, adhesives and you're all set!)

SO, if you are late like I am just email me about the cost (cari_locken@yahoo.ca) and you can create 6 cards in no time! I'll even pay for the shipping!!!

Before I go I just wanted to share a layout I created the other day for Imaginisce using "Sweet Cheri" collection.

Supplies used: Imaginisce (patterned paper "Sweet Cheri", stickers, flower), Core'dinations cardstock, EK Success photo corner punch, Fiskars border punch

Have a great day!

It's snowing!

The kids are screaming that as I type! They are so excited! Now, it's not much but it was forecasted to snow a little today and tomorrow. So we'll see.
Today the kids have their school Christmas concert. I'm excited to see them sing their songs and perform. And yes, I will definitely have my camera - however I stink at taking photos inside this building. Oh well - it's memories right?

Oh and do you want to hear about an exciting give-away??? I'm sure you do!!!
Check out THIS post on the Imaginisce Blog. Tim Holtz is featured for the I-spy project because he used the fabulous i-top tool. Now I must tell you if you haven't used this tool before you have definitely got to try it out! I just love mine!!!! It's so easy to use and there's so many things that you can do with it!! Imaginisce is going to give away an i-top tool set!! All you have to do is leave a comment on the blog - on the post that I've listed above. So go check it out!!

And now I promised you a little tutorial the other day.
Here's the project.
Supplies used: Imaginisce (Polar Expressions patterned paper, rub-ons, flower, i-top brad), metal star (Michaels), oval punch (EK Success), green button, red ribbon, ink (Colorbox)

The steps are fairly simple (sorry I don't have step-by-step photos):
  • choose your paper and lay it overtop of one star "point" (as you can see the point has 2 sides to it and I covered each side with a different patterned paper)
  • gently flatten the paper down over the pointed image so that you get the general shape creased onto your paper
  • then cut out that triangle shape, match it up so see if it fits nicely (you may need to do a bit of trimming for a closer fit)
  • use that cut out triangle image as a template for the other points, always using different patterned papers
  • Glue all pieces onto the star using an adhesive such a ZipDry to adhere to the metal
  • I inked all the edges of the paper once they were glued onto the star.
  • I then took some wide grosgrain red ribbon, tied it in a bow and trimmed the tails.
  • I used my i-top tool & patterned paper to cover the i-top brad daddie.
  • I punched a small hole through the center of my ribbon, inserted the brad through the hole and then through the hole of the red flower.
I finished it off my using a rub-on image on patterned paper, punched it out with an oval punch and tied that with some string to the ribbon loop.
And that's it! It was very simple and didn't take much time to put together at all. I love how it turned out too.
Well, off to get some kids some lunch. Yes, they have the day off school but have two performances today. So we'll be on the go shortly.
Have a great weekend!!

Its' time!

Yes, it's time for us to put some decorations up in this house today. I know, some of you have had them up for ages already. We've just been busy and the kids have the day off school today so I wanted to wait so that they could help out a bit. They're pretty excited.

It's another chilly morning but I'm hoping to get out there for a run and shake off this sleepy feeling I still have. Plus it's been a week ... or two ... since I last went for a run. Hopefully it won't be too painful.

Just thought I'd share a few more cards that I made for Core'dinations last month.
I really had fun making these cards and can't wait to give them out this year.

Supplies used: Core'dinations cardstock, Cuttlebug embossing folders, October Afternoon patterned papers, Making Memories ribbon (red), Queen & Co. felt flower, Jillibean button (green & twine), Imaginisce stamps (sentiments), Fiskars punches

Well, that's it for today. I'm off for my run!
Have a great weekend!

A frosty morning!

Ah, yes, the cold has come but with it the sun ... so no complaining from me! ;) It does, however, get me in the mood for Christmas and the holiday season. I'm finally starting to get the bug!

Just wanted to share a couple of cards that I created for Core'dinations this month.

I just love embossing on this cardstock. It turns out so pretty each & every time! However, this time I decided to just leave them as is after I embossed. No sanding or distressing in any way. Just simple.
Supplies used: Core'dinations cardstock, October Afternoon patterned papers, Jillibean Soup ribbon, buttons, Queen & Co. rhinestones/pearls, Imaginisce stamps, Fiskars punch

Just a reminder ... don't forget to check Imaginisce's blog! A fabulous 12 Days of Christmas project will be posted and when you see that post make sure to leave a comment for your chance to win an amazing prize!!!

Well, I'm off to do some more errands. The days seem to be just whipping by and I still have so much to do.

Have a great Wednesday1

A Chilly Morning!

You know it's cold when you see your breath outside! And that's what kind of day it is today! But, at least there's no rain today! I'm thankful for that. The sun is a very welcome thing right now ... even if it is a bit chilly.

Had a fun night last night as we watched a 5 minute little musical drama that my daughter was in. They performed a piece from High School Musical 2. I was very proud of her and it made me realize that I need to find a really good program for her 'cause this girl has got rhythm and just looks like she's having so much fun!
We also had a chance to hang out with my folks for supper (as they came to watch Kailyn as well). Thanks for the burgers M&D! ;)

I've been working on a few projects for Imaginisce and just wanted to share them with you.

Supplies used: Imaginisce (patterned papers, stamps, rub-ons, ribbons, chipboard), Cuttlebug embossing folders, Fiskars punches, Core'dinations cardstock

I'm just lovin' the blue & red combos (with some green). It seems so cheerful to me.
OH, and Imaginisce has posted 2 new collections on their site. You've got to check them out! They're fabulous!!

Plus, there's other exciting stuff on it's way and I'll share when we get the OK! ;)
Well, I'm off to get some housework done and other errands. Have a great day!
