Thanks! ... and some layouts to share

Thanks so much everyone for the congrats (regarding my new DT gig!) I'm pretty excited about it and I'm looking forward to creating with all this wonderful product!

Right now I'm working on the June kit for Scrap Shotz ... well, right now I'm actually babysitting my niece and nephew along with my youngest. Busy household , that's for sure.
Anyways, the June kit is just so much fun!!!! Just lov'in it!

I'll have to be quick here 'cause the boys are wanting to go outside and ride their bikes for a bit.
But, I just wanted to share the layouts that I made with the May kit from Scrap Shotz.  We had the privilege of using the fabulous Pink Paislee "Fetching" collection. I had to make layouts for the kit insert this month.

So here they are.
"Thanks" card
"My Girl"
"The Boating Dudes"
"Autumn Delight"
"Already a Tween"
"That Mischievous Look"

Well, that's it for now.  I've got to get those boys outside before they wake up my niece!!
Have a great day!

Thrilled to be a Canadian

...because I get to promote amazing companies such as Black River Designs!!!!!  Christine called me up today and asked me if I would be on her first design team ever!!  I was thrilled and completely honored that she asked me!

The Design Team consists of 8 talented scrapbookers from both Canada and the US:
Virginia Wong
Stephanie Klauck
Lisanne Cote
Aly Dosdall
Mimi Leinbach
Lynn Ghahary
Jennifer Matott
and me

This company has some incredible papers, 5 collections in
all and their rub-ons are just amazing!!  So yes! I'm quite excited to be a part of this!!

AND ...

... the summer issue of  Canadian Scrapbookeris making its' way to homes already - I got mine in the mail today! yeah!! Another great issue! I'll post some of my layouts from there another time.

Before I close and head to bed I just wanted to share 2 classes with you that I'm teaching tomorrow at Clipper Street.

First is a "Thanks" Card set
We're going to have lots of fun with ribbon techniques. You'll make 6 cards in all.

Second is a Father's Day mini album.
In need of a Father's Day gift then this would be a great idea! Fill it with your photos of dad & the kids - a gift that any Dad would be sure to love & treasure!
A view of some inside pages. The album is made from scratch and we'll be binding it together in class using the Bind-it-all machine!

And that's it for now! Off to bed so that I don't sound like a complete dork tomorrow when I'm teaching!
Have a great weekend!

Lovin' the Core!

Oh my!!!  I'm just so thrilled to be a part of this amazing team!  Core'dinations Cardstock is so much fun!!!
Here's one of my monthly layouts that I did. It was so much fun making the flowers.  I just tore the paper in circle shapes, using 2 shades of cardstock. I did the same for the leaves.  I used my paper trimmer and scored lines on the cream colored cardstock.  Last of all I used my cuttlebug embossing folders (the little ones) and then lightly sanded the image onto the background cardstock.

Supplies: Core'dinations (Core Essentials, Black Magic, Vintage), Cuttlebug embossing folder & alphabet die, buttons, border punch (Fiskars), oval punch (Marvy), label punch (Stampin' Up), corner rounded punch (EK Success)

So my hubby & I went away this past weekend for our 11th Anniversary.  We had such a relaxing time and thoroughly enjoyed the hot springs.  I mentioned to him that my skin felt softer because of it - and no doubt! We were in those pools all the time!!

Here's a picture of us by Lake Harrison.  We had a fabulous room and wonderful view of the lake and resort. It was just wonderful. (although I can't say I like my squinty eyes - it was cloudy & sunny - Yeah! That's my excuse!)

Anyways, that's it for now.  Off to work on some upcoming classes. Have a great night!

My boys

I can't believe that another week has almost come & gone.  It's been a rainy week and I'm hoping that the weekend will be sunnier because Tim & I are going away for our anniversary.  I'm so excited! It's been a long time since it was just the 2 of us on a little getaway!

Just wanted to share with you a little album that I made a while ago about my boys.  Had some pictures of them playing together, reading together and just hanging out and thought it would be fun to make a mini album.

Supplies used: KaiserCraft (papers, rub-ons, rhinestones); Making Memories little alphabets, paint (Michaels), ribbons

I'm not sure that I'll post for a few days ... so have a great weekend!

Happy Mother's Day

Just wanted to wish all of you moms out there a Happy Mother's Day ... including my own mom who is traveling right now in France.  I miss you mom!!! Hope you're enjoying your trip!

I made this layout for The Inspired Scrapbooker.  My challenge was to create a layout with the theme of Mother's Day - could be anything.  About my mom. About me being a mom.  A tribute to someone who was a mother-like figure, etc.
So, I decided to make a layout about me being a mom. I did a lot of embossing on the Core'dinations cardstock, scored it (those lines on the lighter blue cardstock) and sanded the embossed images as well.  I also used my Cuttlebug to cut out the hearts and the title letters.

Supplies used: October Afternoon patterned paper, Core'dinations cardstock, Fiskars border punch, American Crafts brads, EK Success corner rounded punch

It looks like it's going to be a beautiful sunny day today and that makes me happy.  I'm looking forward to taking my youngest to his T-ball lessons. He's just learning and he's so cute to watch.  I'm sure that I have a smile on my face the entire 45 minutes!!
Ok, I need to go and get some breakfast ... and another cup of coffee!

Have a great weekend!

Monday, Monday

Back at it again.
Sometimes I like Mondays for the fact that it's time to clean up and do laundry.  Other times I dread Mondays for the same reason.  Strange I know. But that's how it is sometimes.
However, today is a good Monday and I'm enjoying getting things back in order.

Just came from taking JJ for his swimming lesson. He's doing so well and I'm so proud of him. It's just so fun to watch him as he's learning (and ... as he's not paying attention but rather playing with the little floating toys.  Little goober!)

Well, I just wanted to say a HUGE thankyou to all of you who posted  on my NSD post and decided to show your faces! Thanks so much!!!  (you really should do it more often you know. ;))
So do you want to know who the winner is??  Yes?  Oh ... alright.

After using the random generator the lucky winner of the card kit is .....

May Day

Wow!! The 1st of May already!!! The kids have a PD day today and we've been out just enjoying the beautiful weather. It's gorgeous.

Kailyn actually took a scrapbook class at our LSS this morning and she had a great time. It was her 1st class and she loved it.  She wouldn't show me what she made though because it's for Mother's Day.  So she asked Daddy to hide it somewhere for her.

I've got a little secret to share.  Well, actually it isn't a secret anymore as I just check HERE    and the announcement was made.

I'm thrilled to have been asked to be a part of the Design Team for Core'dinations!!!  What an honor!  And how exciting to get to work with all those talented designers!!!

Oh and another exciting bit of news is  Canadian Scrapbooker has completely sold out of CSB Volume #1 - it is in such high demand!  So we're going to be producing a new one filled with fabulous new ideas! How cool huh? So, I've been busy coming up with ideas and working on my assignments for this.

Well, I'm outta here! Need to get some supper ready and enjoy the rest of the day!

Hope you have a great weekend!
