Happy Easter Weekend.

Happy Easter everyone!!
I hope that you have had a blessed weekend.  This has to be one of my favourite times of year. Celebrating my Saviour's resurrection and the fact that I have been redeemed!!!

I was also busy baking this weekend.
I made some Paska (Easter Bread) - something that my Grandma used to make every year.  So it brought back a lot of memories.

It's the tradition to have icing & sprinkles on top!

And yes, it was quickly devoured!!

I also made this fun little cake for our family gathering.  The inside layers were filled with a homemade custard. Yummy.  Everyone loved it. But it was on the sweet side.

I also wanted to share some easter crafts with you. I realize that Easter is over but hopefully this will give you some inspiration for next year!
I made these little projects using my Silhouette CAMEO.

I made this pop-up card with lots of fun details and 2 fun shaped pillow boxes to hold some yummy Easter treats!
First off, let's take a look at the pillow boxes.
I found these cute designs in the Silhouette America online store. I simply cut out the shapes for the design in various pieces of coloured card stock and adhered them together onto the pillow box.
Here's a look at the bunny pillow box ....

And how could we forget their cute BE-hinds!!

You will notice that I did adhere some of the pieces with foam squares - just for some added dimension & visual interest.
Then I found this fabulous card (one of many amazing designs that you can find in the online store)!

I wanted to keep the colours subtle but still bright & cheerful!  I knew I wanted to have some sparkly eggs so I cut out the egg shapes from some card stock & Double-Sided Adhesive Sticker paper. I then began adhering the Double-sided Adhesive Sticker pieces (eggs) to the card stock making sure to layer them one on top of each other.
First peel off the yellow paper.

Then place this onto the card stock.  (the white side will be on top).  Then peel that white sheet off and you'll be left with the sticker clear piece.

Repeat this process until all of the eggs have been adhered to the card stock.

I then sprinkled some Silhouette Glitter over the sticker eggs.  I first sprinkled some blue glitter, then little bits of copper (I was going for the speckled blue egg look). I then sprinkled a bit more blue glitter to cover up any missing spots.

The bunny I cut out of grey card stock, Double Sided Adhesive paper and then covered with some grey Flocking Powder.  I wanted the bunny to look soft.

The basket layer I cut from some kraft coloured Adhesive Corrugated Paper.

I love how the title pops up too!  This is definitely a fun card to create.  There's a variety of them to choose from too.  Have fun creating!!!

Being creative!

Hi there,

Today I'm sharing a tutorial on the Silhouette blog - Using the Fill Pattern and Knife tool.
Here's a peek at my layout.

It was a fun project to create and I have to admit that I'm learning new things all the time! And I love that!!!

I'm off to go teach band now and I'm so excited for Spring Break to start.  As I can really use it.  Plus it's time for some spring cleaning around this place.  And my kiddos are definitely going to have their fair share to do 'cause their rooms are a disaster.  Time for cleaning & purging! Yah!!!!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Strawberries!!!

Every summer I take the kids and we go berry picking!  This year I took a few quick shots of our day just so that I could remember it (yes, getting old sucks the memory cells!!)
It was a great sunny day and lots of berries were ripe and ready for the pickin'!

Today I'm sharing a tutorial up on the Silhouette blog about using the Adhesive Backed card stock.
Check out my post HERE.

Here's the layout I created.
I used quite a few cut files and have been waiting for the perfect time to use the little Jam Jar cut file. This was that 'perfect' time!!

Here's a couple of close-ups.

I'd love it if you hopped on over to the Silhouette blog to check out more pictures and my tutorial.

Have a super day!!

Pure Awesomeness

Hi there.

I'm up on the Silhouette blog today sharing a layout I created using the Geometric FREE shape of the week.

I used some of the negative pieces from the geometric shape for arrows on my layout.

I cut the title & then created an offset image for the word "awesomeness" in black Adhesive card stock.

Thanks for stopping by ... and don't forget to get your FREE shape this week!

Instagram Mini Style

Hi there everyone!

I'm so excited to be sharing another project on the Silhouette blog today - in the Scrapbooking/Cards section.
It's a mini album - filled with some favourite photos from the month of May.
This cut file is so easy to use and so much fun to create with.

I simply cut out the box design and the pages (using the size that it opens up in the Silhouette program).  I did cut out the pages 2 times because I wanted my album to have more pages.  If you do this you will have to keep in mind that you don't use a lot of foam squares on the inside pages because this will add bulk to your album.

I did add some other elements to the front of the camera box such as the round 'instagram' design.  I cut several layers of the circle in 2 colours of card stock and adhere them together using foam squares to give some added depth to the lense on the outside of the box.

I used a lot of different cut files on the inside of the mini book as well.  Sometimes I kept the negative pieces and used those for embellishments as well.
I've listed the cut files on the Silhouette blog so hop on over there to check it out. Be prepared ... there's quite a few!

And now ... Here's a look at the cover of the mini.

And here's a peek at the inside pages.

Pages 1 -4
All of the photos I printed at 2" x 2" in size and trimmed them to have a thin white border around them.

A close up shot .... Instead of using my computer to journal (like I always do) I decided to use my own handwriting to add a more personal touch to this album. This is the intro page - sharing some favourite instagram pictures from the month of May.
I also cut out an extra 'instagram circle' shape and then cut out the words 'instagram' from the design to use here on this opening page as part of the journaling.
