Some cards

Morning!

My goodness!!! I can't believe this weather.  Last week we took the kids to the beach after school ... this week they could make a snowman!!
We had snow yesterday but it was wet.  Man! Are the roads slick!!!  Not good. This is when I like to just stay in my safe & cozy home.

Just thought I'd share some close-ups of the cards I'll be teaching next weekend.

These were made using some Piggy Tales papers, May Arts ribbons, and Prima flowers.
Well, I think that's it for today.  I'm going to hang out for a bit with my boys right now. Ryan is home from school sick with a cold.  It seems we've all got a little bit of the bug right now. Not fun but it is going around. So take care!

New class

Hi all!!
Well, it's been a busy morning of scrapbooking for me.  I've been working on layouts for the March kit reveal at Scrap Shotz in a few days.  It's a fabulous kit and I can't wait to see what the other DT members come up with!
So, I managed to get 3 layouts & a card finished this morning. Now on to finish up a few more kits for my class this Thursday and then I'm hoping to get another layout done tonight for Canadian Scrapbooker.

Oh, and I've got a new card class for the Ultimate Scrapbook Retreat.  I'll be there on the Saturday teaching 2 different classes.
I'll post some pictures of these cards individually tomorrow or some time this week so you can have a closer look.

I used some Piggy Tales papers, May Arts ribbons, Prima flowers, and used my punches & stamps a lot!! So much fun! I'm excited to teach this class!

Well, that's if for now. Off to do some more kitting.  Have a great Tuesday!

Scrappy Hour

I had some fun with a little project that I made for Scrap Shotz.  I hosted the monthly Scrappy Hour this past Saturday and had a little scrappy project for everyone to do.
I was thrilled what everyone came up with!!! You gals did an awesome job!

Here's my little notebox box project. I used October Afternoon papers, butterfly punches (EK Success), ribbon (Bazzill), scalloped punch (EK Success), and stamps (Cornish Heritage Farms - Kim Hughes collection)

My youngest is taking swimming lessons - this was his 5th lesson this morning and I just LOVE watching him in the water and seeing the smiles as he listens to his teacher.  He's still not too sure about putting his face completely in the water but he does so well with everything else.  Yes, I'm a proud mommy today.  And because he's not in preschool this year it's been fun for me to watch him interact with other children as well.  I think he's going to do a super job in Kindergarten this fall.  Yikes!! I don't even want to start thinking about that 'cause I have a feeling that I'm going to be a blubbering fool as I watch my youngest start school!!! Ugh!

Well, hope you're all having a wonderful Monday.  Off to get dinner ready for my family.

I'm a bit late

I was going to post this earlier but got busy and forgot to do it.

Just wanted to share that the DT at Scrap Shotz have posted their mid-month challenges ... and they're fabulous. Here's a LINK to where the challenges are posted.
I did a sketch challenge. Drew up my own little sketch and created a layout from it.

This is my sketch and ...

...here's my layout.
I used Basic Grey patterned papers, rub-ons, chipboard accents and Thickers by American Crafts.
And, of course, my decorative scissors which I can't seem to ignore these days!  I'm just lovin' anything & everything scalloped!

So, I went and got my hair cut today and have a funny story to tell.
I booked my appointment last week, wrote down the day which I was told by my hairdresser (who doesn't normally answer the phones) and showed up for my appointment yesterday.  That was the day I'd written down.   My hairdresser comes up to me and says "Um, Cari we have you down for tomorrow not today." I was kind of embarrassed but knew that I'd written down what I was told.  They felt bad too.  Anyways, I go today and get my hair cut and at the end as I was going to pay my hairdresser asks me how my day is tomorrw.  I was kind of confused as to why he was asking.  He continues talking and tells me that he wanted to book me a pedicure - his treat!!  I was shocked and thrilled.  How sweet is that??
So, ... I'm getting pampered tomorrow!! Yeah!!!  I haven't had a pedicure in a looooooong time!

Just finished prepping my kits for Saturday's class and I finished up a new card class tonight as well.  I'll post pictures later. I'm teaching at a retreat March 7th - it'll be a nice break.
Well, that's all for now. I need to go to bed & get some sleep.

Just a little something.

I was playing around with stuff last week and had fun creating this little bag to fill with goodies.
I used:
  • Basic Grey paper
  • Prism cardstock
  • border punch
  • scalloped circle punch
  • tab punch
  • flower (Making Memories)
  • button (SEI)
  • ribbon (unknown)
I'm love how it turned out and I think I'm going to fill it up with some goodies to give to my mom & dad for Valentines Day this Saturday.
I can't believe that it's almost Valentines Day.  We don't do much anyways (I certainly don't expect flowers because they're 3 times the price at this time of year!) but the kids are home this year (because it's on a Saturday) so I'm planning on doing some fun stuff with them.  Making heart shaped foods, playing games, having a little "spa" time with Kailyn, going bowling, making our own pizza, etc.  Now hopefully we'll get all that accomplished! LOL! ;)

I'm teaching tonight at Clipper Street - a little clear album "Things We Love". It's a cute little album that I put a picture of each family member and then listed some of the things that they love. Lots of Prima stuff in here too!
Welll, I'm off to do some cleaning around here and tidying up. It always amazes me at how quickly this place can turn into a disaster zone!

Have a great day!

Relaxing Saturday

Not too much happening around this household today. Just enjoying a nice relaxing day.  The kids are finishing up their Valentine's cards for school and I'm working on some assignments for Canadian Scrapbooker.
I was thrilled to find out this week that I had won the monthly challenge at Scenic Route.  I just love their stuff and am honored that they picked my layout. Thanks SR! I'm really looking forward to playing with the new collection Garden Grove! I love the colors! By the way, the next challenge is using their stickers.  I know I've got quite collection as I use them often.  Hmmmm.... I'll have to see if I have time to come up with something!
Well, off to continue working here.

Have a great weekend!

Scrap Shotz's Crop weekend

... was awesome!!!! Thanks so much to the DT for such fabulous challenges and to everyone who participated!! You did an awesome job!!!

I hosted 2 challenges and a Make & Take.

Here they are:

The Make & Take was a little shopping bag that we made from cardstock & patterned paper.
SportChek Challenge - create a layout about sports (anything goes) and incorporate a piece of memorabilia on your layout). My layout was about me running a 5K race.

My other challenge was Le Chateau Challenge - create a layout about your home or any kind of "home".  Some ladies made a page about a gingerbread house or a mini log house that the one of their children made.

You'll have to check out the Gallery because everyone did such a fantastic job.
To top the whole weekend off there were prizes and grand prizes!! Yeah!!
And tonight the DT is loading up their February kit projects - and let me tell you - they are amazing. This month's kit was so much fun to work with! I just loved it.
