WOW!!!!

Ok, so I realized the other day that I haven't posted on 2 Peas in a Bucket in ages!! So I uploaded a few things the other day and I clicked on the gallery today to find that one of my layouts is the Featured Layout. How fun! I'm so excited! Thanks so much Kristina!!!  You just made my day!! ;)

So, today was my last sleep-in day for a while.  As I lay in bed this morning listening to my children play I was kind of sad that they have to head back to school tomorrow. It's been rather fun just lazying around in the mornings and not having to rush anywhere.  But, on the other hand I think they're ready to get back to it and see their friends.

Plus I've got a ton of scrapping assignments to get done and just haven't had the time to do it! So I am looking forward to getting lots done in the next week or two.

Hope you enjoy the rest of your weekend.
I'm off to get my cup of coffee!

Almost over

Well, spring break for my kiddos is almost over.  It's hard to believe that 2 weeks has almost gone by.  Yep! They had 2 weeks off!  I was actually kind of worried as to what we would do and if they would be bored but this time with them has be fabulous! Oh sure, we did have some boring moments and some times of great frustration but that was to be expected.

I do wish that we could have taken them on a trip somewhere fun and adventurous (just not financially feasible right now) and God has different plans for us right now and as I continue to wait patiently for His leading and direction in our lives I know that He has a special plan for us.

I've got a little sneak peek for one of my upcoming classes at Clipper Street.
Well, that's it for now. Short post I know but I'm off to bed.

Happy Friday!

I love sleep-in mornings! The kids had a late night last night and are still sleeping. It's so nice & peaceful right now.

Just thought I'd share a layout that I did for The Inspired Scrapbooker. My assignments was to use numbers or counting somehow on a layout or mini album. I decided to include my kids on this assignment and the other day asked them to organize all of their cars into colors. They had so much fun! Who would've thought they could pass time this way! ;)

Anyways, here's my layout.
Supplies I used: Bazzill Basics Cardstock, Black River Designs patterned paper, American Crafts Thickers and brads, Maya Road sheer journal shape (car), Basic Grey chipboard letters.

Well, hoping to get a few pages done today and perhaps work on some more class projects.
Hope you have a great Friday!

Another challenge

So it's that time again when the DT at Scrap Shotz posts their mid-month challenges.

The challenge is to use felt on your layout or card.  Not too difficult for many of you I'm sure.  And as you can see from my page I had quite a lot of fun using it. ;)
I used some yummy October Afternoon papers and Fancy Pants felt. I love the combo!

And my BIG news .... yesterday I ran my first 10K race ever!!!! I DID IT!!!! It was a great feeling - afterwards.  A harder run though - because I'd been sick for 2 weeks before and missed many of my runs. I really felt that.  But it was good to do it and I'm feeling pretty good today. They haven't posted our exact times yet but I think I did it in 1:02. Not too shabby for this 40 year old gal!!

Well, I'm off.
Hope you're having a great weekend!

Some pages

Hi there!
I'm just enjoying the beautiful, warm sunshine come through the window here in my office.  It's just gorgeous!
Had a busy day of running around ... and yes! I did run 5K too. ;)

Just thought I'd share some layouts & cards that I had published in the latest issue (spring '09) of Canadian Scrapbooker.

We were assigned to create some Birthday cards - I used American Crafts products.

Some other assignments were:
  • "THE CAKE" ~ to do a layout about Birthdays ~ I used papers and diecut shapes from Die Cuts With a View.

  • "I'LL TAKE CARE OF YOU" ~to make a page using a song/lyrcis for our title or part of our journaling. I used Kelly Panacci papers, chipboard embellishments (which are just so cute!), American Crafts letter stickers and SEI buttons.

  • "A GRAND THING" ~ create a page with flowers.  I used BoBunny papers, Prima flowers, American Crafts Thickers and SEI buttons.
I apologize for the "not-so-great" pictures. I probably should take some more pictures of these projects (but truth be told ... I'm too lazy!)

Well, we had parent/teacher interviews and the kids have done very well this past semester.  Now, it's time for spring break.  They get 2 weeks off!!  Boy! We're going to have to plan some major fun events because we're not going away anywhere (as much as I'd like to it's just not possible right now).

So, I ran today and will take tomorrow off because Saturday is my biggest run yet.  I have a 10K race.  I'm a bit nervous because I've been sick for that last 2 weeks so my energy just hasn't been what is usually is and I'm still pretty tired.  So hopefully it won't be too painful of a run on Saturday.  I'm not really aiming for a certain time - it's probably best that I don't do that to myself.  Although if I could do it in 60 minutes that would be super!!!
My hubby & I went to drive the course yesterday and there's a pretty nasty hill so I'm already freaking myself out about that one. Ugh! Hopefully my sister-in-law will stick with me and cheer me along.  She's so good at that and encourages me & helps to keep me going.

Well, I think that's if for now.
Hope you're enjoying your Thursday! I'm off to get some supper ready!

Crazy weather!

Yet again! We are having some funny weather patterns hit us here in the west coast.
Sunday and yesterday we were having snow again and the roads were very slick yesterday morning.  Now, of course, most of it is gone but my goodness it is cold out there this morning.  Cold for here that is.  (just so that my Alberta friends don't think I've become a wuss or anything! LOL!)

I had a great time teaching on Saturday at The Ultimate Scrapbooking Retreat.  I realized as I was heading up the mountain that the drive down would be a bit scary because they had snow the night before and more was expected.  Needless to say I made it in 1 piece and had a blast teaching my classes. The ladies all did a fabulous job with their projects and I hope that they had fun making them too.
I'm already planning some more classes for April when I teach again at the retreat. Hope to see you ladies there again!! :)

I actually have a couple of kits left if anyone is interested in purchasing them.

This "Happiness" Clear Album was so much fun and comes complete with all the product (Scenic Route paper, chipboard shapes, BoBunny rub-ons, Heidi Swapp flower and ribbons) and instructions.  *SOLD OUT*.
This next kit is a card class "Cards for Any Occasion".  Comes complete with patterned paper, ribbons, pre-stamped sentiments, pre-punched shapes, buttons, flowers, brads, rhinestones and full instructions with photos included. **I have 4 kits left.**
** SOLD OUT**

So, if you are interested in purchasing one of these kits please email me at cari_locken@yahoo.ca

Well, we've had a sick household here now for probably over 3 weeks.  Started with colds, coughs and the other night my youngest was complaining of a sore tummy.  I wasn't feeling the greatest yesterday either - with the tummy thing.  Sure hope this all passes quickly.
I've been a bit disappointed because I haven't been able to run for almost 2 weeks now and I've got a 10K run for Saturday.  Oh well, we can only do what our bodies will allow us to do right?

I think that's all for now.  Hope you have a great day!!

That time again!

Yep!  It's that time of the month again when the DT at Scrap Shotz reveals their projects using the March kit - it is an awesome kit by the way. Full of Basic Grey's Marrakech collection, chipboard elements, alpha stickers, chipboard sticker shapes, glazed brads ... well you'll just have to check it out HERE.
Plus you have to check out the talented Design Team and the wonderful creations that they came up with this month!! Look in the DESIGN TEAM GALLERY.

Here's what I came up with this month.

A simple card using some of my scraps. (sorry ... not the greatest picture.)
"Simply You" - about my son Ryan
"Goofballs" - about my son and me being silly one day sitting on the couch.
"Beach Fun" - about my youngest just enjoying the sandy beach and his dumptruck.
Well, I'm off to bed.  This past weekend we've all been sick with the cold - not too much fun around here.  So I'm hoping another good nights' sleep will help me feel better in the morning.
