Paper Trunk's Blog Rock!!

Hi everyone!!!

SO are you ready for a blog rock??! Ever heard of it? I'm not sure that I have but I do know that this one is going to be rockin'!

Each day 2 design team members will be posting a little sneak peek of the new papers on their personal blogs. One in the morning and one in the afternoon. The reason for this is because this paper is double sided so you'll see one side in the morning and then the other side will be revealed in the afternoon. So you won't want to miss out on these. Each blog will have a riddle/question or something of that nature. You can post your answer on the blogs for your chance to win a fabulous prize from Paper Trunk!!

Here's the details that Carrie (the owner of PT) posted on the blog.
So, here's the nitty-gritty of the BLOG ROCK:

  3. Check back here on June 1st to see the final reveal and a chance to win the GRAND PRIZE!
SO head on over the Trunk blog for your first sneak and then you'll see the schedule of blog postings for more sneaks. Rachel was next to post this afternoon so you'll see the other side of the 1st paper!!! So go on!! Get hoppin'!

Victoria Day & an exciting BLOG SWAP!

Today the kids had no school because it is Victoria Day sowe took them to Fort Langley and enjoyed watching a parade, then ate free hot dogs, the kids looked around a little fair and then we were homeward bound. I enjoyed taking lots of pictures of the parade - not sure if any turned out yet as I haven't uploaded them to my computer. If they're any good I'll share some tomorrow.

But for today I wanted to share about a fun Blog Swap that's happening between Core'dinations and Imaginisce (and yes, I'm so excited about this because I am thrilled to be a part of the design teams for both of these amazing companies!! They are awesome!!!) I just love the variety and textures of Core' cardstock as the ideas & possibilities are just endless. And Imaginisce's collections are so much fun to work with and go great with any occasion. Both of these companies are AWESOME!!

Make sure to check out the blogs at Core'dinations and Imaginisce for fabulous design ideas and win some free stuff!!! We all like that don't we? ;)
Here's a link to Core'dinations blog - CLICK HERE and the link to Imaginisce's blog - CLICK HERE. Starting today and for the rest of the week there will be wonderful designs and ideas to check out from both companies and I KNOW that you won't want to miss out on this.

Here's a few things that I worked on this past weekend using product from both companies.

Supplies used: Imaginisce Splash Dance collection, Core'dinations cardstock, Cuttlebug embossing folders

This next layout I had some fun tearing my cardstock into the shape of a starfish. This cardstock tears like a dream and leaves such a fun new color to show for it too. I also had fun using the new i-rock tool and some rhinestones and some white glam rocks to my little starfish. That new tool is soooo much fun!!

Supplies used: Imaginisce Splash Dance collection & i-rock tool (rhinestones and glam rocks also), Core'dinations cardstock

So you wanna know how to win some goodies? Then hop on over to both blogs and leave a comment. Who knows you may be the lucky winner. Make sure to do this every day as there are some amazing prizes. Core'dinations is giving away 200 sheets of cardstock plus Lucy Bird collection and Live Loud. Comment on all the posts at Core'dinations for a chance to win this amazing prize. The winner will be announced Monday, May 31st.

I'll share some more projects throughout the week.
So... what are you waiting for?? Head on over!!! Get hoppin'! and have a fabulous week!

New banner & a layout

Morning all.

I played on my blog here yesterday changing my header and a few other things. I think I'm happy with it now. It just needed a bit of a make-over. LOL! I was getting tired of the other one.

So, it's Friday! Yeah!! Love Fridays! And it's the long weekend (for us here in Canada! ;)) Hoping to have some nice weather to see a parade and ride bikes, etc. with my kiddos. Plus I have a bunch of scrappy assignments to work on and complete by the end of the month!!

Speaking of an assignment I had a challenge due today for The Inspired Scrapbooker. My challenge was to create a layout/project about Animals. So one day this past week as I was tidying up my boys' room I saw their collection of stuff animals. And believe me, there IS quite a collection. Anyways, I lined up some of the animals that we had bought our youngest before he was born - they still look so cute and soft, ... except for one that has been well loved!

Here's my layout.

Supplies used: October Afternoon patterned papers, Core'dinations cardstock, Fiskars border punch, EK Success corner punch, Basic Grey chipboard alpha, Fancy Pants chipboard (heart, flowers, journal shape), twine, buttons (Chatterbox)

Well, I'm off to enjoy the day (actually working today but still hoping to enjoy the day).
Have a great weekend.

Working on things here

Well, I'm still playing around with my blog. I'm not sure but it was just looking busy ... still does to me. So, I'll just putter around with it when I have time here & there.

I've been working on-call (doing switchboard) a fair bit this past month and haven't been able to scrapbook too much lately but I was able to get a layout done today that I'll be posting on Friday for The Inspired Scrapbooker. I can't remember if I mentioned that they moved from Typepad to Blogger. Here's the new blog.

I thought I'd share a couple layouts that I did using Core' Amour collection - it's so different and fun to use. The embossed designs on this paper is just so pretty and really comes out when you sand it.

Well, that's it for now. Off to try to scrapbook.

So Blessed

I feel so blessed to have 3 beautiful & healthy children. They bring me a great deal of joy (and teach me a great deal of patience as well.) I'm so proud of the things that they have accomplished & learned already. The little gifts that they made for me yesterday for Mother's Day will be treasured.

After church yesterday morning we snapped a couple of pictures, however, Kailyn really wasn't in the mood (as you can see from the picture of me with my boys - she didn't want to be outside anymore. oh well.)

Here's a picture of my mom, Kailyn and me. My mom made Kailyn's dress and her own. I just happened to have a skirt that matched that I bought about 6 years ago!!!
My boys! One little one was being a bit goofy though and this is the only picture where he's somewhat smiling.
After coming home from church my son Ryan wanted to make me lunch all by myself. Which he did. And it was delicious! Thanks my little chef!

Later in the afternoon I packed up a picnic and we went to a park (along with my folks) where the kids could run around, we played games, laughed lots and just had a great time.

Now it's back to working on projects & assignments. It's a busy month as I'm working part time as well so there's lots to do & not enough hours in the day! Don't you ever feel like you could have maybe 5 more hours in the day? I sometimes do.

I've been asked to teach at the "Stamp Out Breast Cancer" event at the Granville Island Hotel this weekend. I've actually got a couple of tickets here and would love to give them away if you live in the area & are interested in going. These passes will get you through the door, walk around & visit the boutique show, do some Make n Takes, be a part of the Silent Auction, see some demos and, of course, SHOP! So if you're interested just email me (cari_locken@yahoo.ca) Plus click HERE to see what classes are being offered and sign up for a few. I know you'll enjoy yourself!

Off to work!
Have a great Monday!

I'm excited to get to know some more amazing scrapbookers and look forward to becoming a part of this wonderful team & company.

First Track Meet

Well, today was my daughter's first track & field meet. She was so excited. I was up at 6am getting lunches ready and other stuff, got her up, we were off to the school to pick up some other girls and then we were off for a full day of events. The Lord blessed our day with the perfect weather too. It was just a gorgeous day!

Kailyn had to wait a while until her first event which was the 100m. She did a great job running and came in 2nd!
A picture of the girls just before their event.

Love this look!
The are some of her team mates that ran in the 100m relay race. They came in 4th in that event.

Then she ran the 200 m and came in 2nd again! So proud of her!

Tim picked up JJ after Kindergarten and he stayed for a while being his typical self! Silly boy!

Her last race of the day was the 400m. She did amazing. The event was run with all the girls in their teams (all running at the same time). So there was approx.13 girls out there. Once again Kailyn did an amazing job and placed 4th.
It was hard taking pictures all the time though because I really want to watch her & cheer and that's not all that easy through a camera lense!

So, she was pretty excited with the day and how things went and thoroughly enjoyed her 1st ever Track & Field day!

Now it's homemade pizza night!!! Yeah! Time to celebrate!

A Rainy Lullaby, PageMaps & some new classes

I went to bed last night to the sound of rain and I must admit that I enjoy that sound (especially when I'm all cozy & warm inside). It's supposed to ease a bit today (as well as the wind and I hope it does because my hubby is supposed to fly home today).

Thanks everyone for all your sweet comments on my Imaginisce layout - using the sketch. It's so much fun reading all the comments. I hope that you've been keeping up with the Imaginisce blog too because they always have fabulous give-aways ... often! ;)

I wanted to share some fun news with you ... finally. Last year Becky Fleck asked me to contribute to her PageMaps Book 2 book and I was thrilled (so of course I said "yes!"). I can now share with you that the book will be released in October and here's a link to Amazon where you can find the book.

I've got some sneak peeks of 2 classes that I'll be teaching at Clipper Street. So if you live in the area you can check them out in the store & sign up there or online.

"See The World"
(for class dates & full description CLICK HERE)
The 1st one is a double page spread using "Scooters Vacation" Imaginisce collection. This collection is so fun and you'll get some great packages of product.

"1, 2, 3 Go! Spring Fling"
(for class dates & full description CLICK HERE)
This second class is like my other 1, 2, 3 Go classes. We will create 3 single pages layouts with a spring theme and color combinations using some wonderful & beautiful papers.

That's it for now. Have a wonderful Monday!
