B&W and color photo challenge

I love using black & white and color photos together on my layouts. So this month, my challenge for The Inspired Scrapbooker was fun! Well, ... they always are! ;)
Instead of having my larger photo being colored I decided to make it black & white and the smaller photos I kept in color as they had so much visual interest to share.

Here's my layout for the challenge.

Supplies used: Jillibean Soup (papers, stickers), American Crafts Thickers, buttons, Fiskars border punch, Prism cardstock

Did you know that Canadian Scrapbooker has a blog now? Yes, it's true! And you've got to check it out because there's a great contest going on right now & you have a chance to win a prize package from Spellbinders! The contest closes April 11th so don't delay! Here's a link to the blog.

Well, it's the weekend again. I love weekends ... 'cause it means Saturday is sleep-in day for me. Yeah!
So, have a great weekend!!!

Imaginisce & Tombow

These 2 companies teamed up this month and Tombow was very generous to us with their product!! They have so many wonderful adhesives!!

I created this layout using Tombow's Mono Dots Permanent Adhesive roller. Love that thing! And I used the Dual Brush markers to color in my stamped images on the cardstock. These markers, let me just tell you, are excellent. They have 2 tips. One end is a brush tip and the other is finer. They're fabulous and the colors were just perfect with the new Live Loud collection by Imaginisce.

Supplies: Imaginisce Live Loud collection (papers, stickers, chipboard, markers), Prism cardstock, Tombow adhesives and markers.

I also created this little card using the same adhesive and markers.
I used versamark & the robot stamp on my blue cardstock for the background. Then used black ink and colored in the image with the Dual Brush markers.

So, if you have a chance to try out Tombow adhesive DO IT!! You won't be disappointed!

Thanks for looking and have a great day!

Excited!!!

Well, I've got some fabulous news! I didn't make the team ... but... I've been asked to be a Guest Designer for Jillibean Soup!! Here's the post with the new DT listed and Guest Designers. I was so excited when I got the email from Kimber/Jill yesterday and at that time didn't know who made the Design Team. I can't imagine how difficult it was to choose from all those applications! They've got a wonderful, talented team and I'm looking forward to seeing all the beautiful creations!

Well, it's Friday, the weekend is here and I'm looking forward to it.
We're going on a little hike today with the grandparents and maybe have a picnic. At least the kids would like to have one. Then tomorrow Ryan has his 1st soccer tournament. Should be fun!

Here's some pictures from the Bird Sanctuary when I took the kids the other day.

Here's JJ being surrounded by the ducks because they know he has a handful of seeds!!
The kids feeding the ducks. They had so much fun doing this.
Cool birdhouses everywhere. We even fed the chickadees (that was my favorite part, except the kids weren't patient enough to wait for them to land on their hands so I could take a picture!)
One of God's beautiful creations. Just look at those colors!

And my favorite picture of the day (except for all those chin rolls!!!)

So that's it for now. Have a wonderful weekend!

Here's a look at one of layout that we'll be making.

Hope you're enjoying your week. My kids still have this week off for spring break. Yesterday we enjoyed going to the Bird Sanctuary and today we've got some other things planned as well. Yes, ... I'll be taking pictures. (just haven't uploaded from yesterday yet. ;)

A Fabulous weekend!

I had so much fun this past weekend teaching at The Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnival in Victoria, BC and working with Canadian Scrapbooker magazine. It was just a blast and so much fun to hang out with Katharina Doyle, Cathie Allan, Christie (and her hubby), and Diane Baldwin.

I was even thrilled to hear that we would be staying at the Empress!

The venue for this event was spectacular. Just beautiful!

The lighting for teaching/classroom area was also just amazing because it was mostly natural light. This building used to be a green house ... and not just any ordinary greenhouse. This place was gorgeous.

I had so much fun teaching my classes and the ladies were just so sweet and wonderful.
Here's a few pictures to share.

I loved working with Katharina in the Canadian Scrapbooker booth. She's just amazing! and did an awesome job getting things ready for this event!

A HUGE thanks to my sponsors Imaginisce and Core'dinations!! You are awesome!!

Almost ready

Well, I've got a ton of stuff & kits packed up & ready to go for this weekend. Only a few things left to work on and get ready before I leave for the Island. I'm really excited and looking forward to a bit of a break as well. It's been a rather stressful few days just trying to get it all together.

We had fun on Monday at my parent's house remembering my Grandpa and his love for ice cream.
Here's a few pictures.

Well, I'm off to bed. Needing some sleep in a big way right now! Have a great day!

**OH, and please bear with me as I'm adding some tabs to the top of my blog and will try to clean up some clutter around here. So things will change slowly next week sometime.

No rest for the weary

It's been a busy week and will continue to be so. I've been kitting like crazy lately plus I feel like I'm a single mom. Tim has been working early afternoons to the wee hours of the morning. It's hard work being a single parent I tell ya! I'm exhausted at the end of the day (from driving them to various activities, making supper, cleaning up.) At the end of it all I can't wait for bedtime (me included!!)

I'm so excited about this coming weekend. The Great Canadian Scrapbook Carnival is heading to Victoria BC. I'm really looking forward to a bit of a "break" as well and hoping that it will be somewhat "relaxing" - I'm sure it won't but I'm still hoping. ;)

I've still got so much to get done before I leave however. So I'd better get some sleep.

But before I leave I just wanted to share this fun news.
Tomorrow, March 8th is Ice Cream Cone Day!

What??!! You've never heard of that? We'll that's probably 'cause my dad just made it up for our family! March 8th was my Grandpa's birthday. He died 2 years ago only 6 short months after my grandpa passed away. Still makes me cry thinking about the 2 of them. I loved them dearly.
Well, in honor of my Grandpa we are going over to my parents place and having ice cream cones!!! The kids are so excited! A great way to start off their spring break. (I'm not so sure I'll be happy to bring them home with a sugar fix though!)

Well that's it for now!
Have a great Monday tomorrow!

WAY TO GO CANADA!!!! ... and March Sketch Contest

Yeah Canada!!!!! I am so proud to be Canadian! Our atheletes did such an amazing job and I just loved the stories of all the atheletes ... not just Canadians. Such incredible life journeys and heart wrenching stories that some of these people have to tell.
And that hockey game .... oh!!! How exciting!!! I'm almost sad that it's all over now. TV was so fun to watch these last couple of weeks! Our family has been glued to it every day.

Well, I guess that it's over now it's time to get back to life. LOL!
As today is March 1st (yikes ... it's March already!!!) Imaginisce has got a new monthly sketch. Once again the Design Team have come up with some amazing layouts based on this sketch that was designed by Erin Bassett.

Here's my take on the sketch. I pretty much stuck with the sketch.

So, once again, there's a little prize happening!!

And now the fun part! This sketch challenge is open to everyone!
