Beautiful Day

Oh, what a gorgeous day it was today! Just beautiful. Went early to church this morning with my mom to help with our Cafe Connect (we make fresh baked goodies, coffee & tea) and serve it after the service. Everyone loves it.
Then we came home and had some lunch. Kids played outside for a little bit. Then we went to pick up Kailyn from a friend's house and Tim dropped me off at a local track so that I could run laps. I always feel so good afterwards (but often struggle when I'm working hard). Then back home for supper. Kids are out playing again and I'm sitting here doing a bit of work and thinking of our beautiful day that we were blessed with.

This past Thursday Kailyn had her track n field event! It was great but rather chilly for those of in the stands. Her 1st run was the 800m. I missed as I was dropping the boys off at school but Tim said that she did great and placed 8th. Not too bad at all!!
Then her next run was the 100m and she placed 1st in her heat! So proud of her. Throughout the rest of the day she ran the 200m (another 1st place), 400m (8th place) and relay (she ran the last stretch and managed to get her team into 3rd place). She was exhausted later that evening but she did such an awesome job. Her entire school did really well too.

Here's a few shots from that day.
Winning the 100m!!
Proudly showing off her 1st & 8th place ribbons.
Winning the 200m.
On the way across the track to run the 200m. It was a chilly day but we were all thankful that it didn't rain.
Running the 400m - a long race to have at the end of the day but she did great!
Have a great evening!

It's Friday!!!

I Love Fridays!! (plus it was a great day yesterday as I got a few emails requesting some projects for publication! Always love those emails!)

Have a few things to share as I haven't posted much this week - been busy.

Here's a layout from Club Got Sketch that was posted this past Monday. It was a double page sketch but I made mine into a one pager.

Supplies used: Core'dinations Cardtsock Imaginisce patterned paper and stickers, Divine Twine, Cuttlebug embossing folder, punches (EK Success & Fiskars), alpha stickers (Scenic Route), 3L (foam squares)

We've got one more sketch to go and it will be on Monday. Wow! 8 weeks just flew by! Thanks Valerie for so many amazing sketches. I had so much fun creating my layouts.

Here's a card I made a little while back.

Supplies used: Core'dinations Cardstock, Fiskars stamp (Sentiment) & punches (oval, scallop oval, swirl, corner border), 3L (foam squares)

I used the scallop oval punch to make the petals of the flower. The oval I punched out of dark brown cardstock and embosssed then lightly sanded the embossed image. I hand stitched the flower stem and added leaves using the swirl punch. I stamped the sentiment with a Fiskars stamp.

AND FOR THOSE OF YOU ANXIOUSLY WAITING FOR THE CORE'DINATIONS DT ANNOUNCEMENT ... stay tuned as it will be made on National Scrapbooking Day - this Saturday May 7th!!! I CAN'T WAIT to see who makes the new team!!!!

Imaginisce monthly challenge & Giveaway!

I can't believe that April has passed by us already!! My kids will be done school soon! Where has the time gone by?

Well, a new month always bring new challenges. And Imaginisce has a new one for you yet again.
I had read many comments lately and heard many people asking for masculine/boy themed ideas. So Michelle & I came up with this month's challenge and we hope that you enjoy it.

Create a masculine theme layout/card/project and use one of the Snag 'Em stamps on your project. I know many people forget about those darling little stamps that come with each collection so we wanted to challenge you to use those.

Here's my layout that I created.

Supplies used: Imaginisce (To Love & Cherish papers, Garden Party papers stamp (Splash Dance collection), i-rocks, ribbon from Garden Party), Core'dinations cardstock, American Crafts Thickers, 3L (foam squares), Fiskars border punch,
Cuttlebug & Cuttlebug embossing folder

I used the anchor stamp from the Splash Dance collection. I stamped the image on cardstock with Versamark and then embossed the image with white embossing powder. I colored in the heart shape with a red marker.

I also used one of the frame design stamps from Garden Party to write the date in. I added some Glam Rocks here & there on my layout.

The large anchor I hand drew and cut out myself.
You'll also notice that I didn't use the typical "boyish" papers on my layout. I actually used papers from a wedding collection - To Love & Cherish. I also mixed in a strip of patterned paper from Garden Party for added color.

Make sure to stop by the Imaginisce blog to check out what the Design Team has created. Plus there's always a prize for leaving a comment on the blog today and another one for doing the challenge!
