Phew! Been busy!

It's been a busy couple of weeks.
I taught last weekend (up at Loon Lake) and I'm teaching a class again this morning at Clipper Street. Had fun at the pumpkin patch the other day with my son's Gr.1 class. It was a bit wet but none-the-less everyone enjoyed themselves!

Just wanted to share a layout with you this morning.
I used lots of Core'dinations cardstock, an alpha stamp set from myStampBox (Rough Copy) and some darling ice cream cone pins from My Little Bit Of Whimsy.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Sorry ...

I've been MIA for a while here.
It's been quite a week!

Last Saturday my hubby took the kids swimming. On their way home this happened.

I tell ya, that is a mother's worst nightmare to receive a phonecall about something like that. I'm just so thankful that the Lord has his hand of protection on my family. They are all safe and ok. Some cuts, bruises and whiplash is what they're experiencing right now.

We found out the other day that the car is a right off however, so that's disappointing. I still have my family though.
It was a fabulous car with hardly any mileage on it and my hubby thought it would last him years. Now the pain of finding another new vehicle. Ah yes, but I still have my family!

We've had some gorgeous weather and this past Wednesday we enjoyed a sunny day watching Kailyn run at her 1st cross-country meet. She was awesome!!! Hundreds of kids were at this event and their school placed 3rd in their division! I'm so proud of Kailyn and her friends!

I've got a post up on the Paper Trunk blog today. If you've been following along with us over there then you've been keeping track of the words from previous posts right? I posted another word and a layout that I created.

Here's a peek.
Well, I'm outta here. I need to finish up some kitting as I'm teaching some classes at The Ultimate Scrapbook Retreat tomorrow.

Have a great Friday and fabulous weekend!!!

EXCITING NEWS!

March 11-13th, 2011 I'll be teaching for a FULL weekend at Scrapbook Parade in Victoria, BC.

I will be teaching six classes throughout the weekend from layouts, cards to home decor and they will be filled with amazing product and fun new techniques!
If you live in the area I would love to see you there!!! Anyone interested can have their name put on a list until all the details are secure. For more details you can check out their blog post.
Please not that more information will be made available as classes and fees are finalized.

Here's a peek at a few of the classes I'll be teaching there. Class descriptions have been posted on the Scrapbook Parade blog so you can check there for more information.

If you attended the year's BC's Crop for Kids event (in early October) then this album may be familiar. The class was a huge hit and the ladies who took the class loved their albums so I decided to teach it again.

I'll be sure to post more about this event as more class information becomes available.

Have a fabulous weekend!!!

The Inspired Scrapper

It's that time again. TIS has another great challenge today.

Today's challenge is "Stamp It Challenge".
Here's a peek at what I shared on the blog over there today.

And here's a couple of older layouts that I had created for Canadian Scrapbooker Basics Vol.2 Stamping issue.

This one I used a stamp on the background cardstock with a variety of colors of ink.
I used a leaf stamp image (Fancy Pants) and Versamark on 3 different shades of cardstock. I then took the same stamp with green ink and stamped the image on kraft cardstock and cut it out, popped it up with pop dots for added dimension.
So hop on over to The Inspired Scrapper to see some fun stamping projects.

My first project with mSB!

Morning everyone!

Well, today was my day to post on the myStampBOX blog and I have a fun tutorial for you.

Here's the finished product. Below I'll show you how I created it and I hope you give it a try too because it is super fun!

First of all you will need some glossy or shiny cardstock as this technique won’t work on ordinary cardstock. Trust me. I tried it.

Step #1: I stamped my images onto the paper using a black ink. I used Wishing You Sunshine stamp set for my project.

Step #2: I then took a crayon – you can use white or a light colored one. I started with a light color to show you in my pictures but then I continued using a white one instead.

Step #3: After using the crayon I took a sponge applicator and some yellow dye ink and sponged over the sunshine images.

Step #4: I then used a blue dye ink and sponged over the cloud images. After the clouds I took a violet/lilac colored dye ink and filled in any of white spaces (bascially where the sentiment was).

Step #5: I then took a kleenex and gently rubbed over the images where I had used the crayon. This revealed a “white” image where the ink didn’t take. It’s such a cool technique!

I trimmed down the piece of paper and made a card. This was my finished project. I used some of the new Stacy Julian Core’ Impressions cardstock (they yellow embossed dots). Love this collection!

I really have been enjoying using mSB stamps. They work so well and I can't wait to build up my collection!!

Plus check back tomorrow because I have some VERY EXCITING news to share. with you!!!!

Imaginisce Give Away & Happy Thanksgiving!

Just wishing all of my fellow Canadians a very blessed & Happy Thanksgiving today!!
We enjoyed our yummy turkey dinner and pumpkin pie yesterday at my folks house. It was so delicious! And today - the leftovers!!!

I also took my kids and my dad to the Hazelnut farm again to pick some nuts! It was such a nice day and we couldn't pass it by. It's sad though ... the trees are dying because they have blight. So I'm not even sure whether or not there will be nuts to pick next fall.

Oh, and have you checked out the Imaginisce blog lately??? They having an awesome giveaway. All I can say is CRICUT GYPSY. Go check it out!!!

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

Where has the time gone???

To celebrate 5 years of publishing Canadian Scrapbooker magazine is offering their subscribers a special collector's edition of the Winter 2010/11 issue.
You can find out more details HERE on the Canadian Scrapbooker website.

I still remember the day when I got an email from Jackie asking me if I would be interested in helping her with a dream that she wanted to pursue. She wanted to start an all Canadian Scrapbook magazine!! I was thrilled & honored and still have those same feelings because I've been able to be a part of this amazing group for the past 5 years.

I feel very blessed to work for this magazine and it has opened up so many doors of opportunity that I am just so thankful for. Thanks Jackie & Katharina.

And congrats to you both in this exciting celebration! Thank you for offering a Canadian magazine for all of us Canadian Scrapbookers full of amazing & fabulous ideas and creations. I am already looking forward to what the next 5 years hold in store!!!

October Sketch

Ah yes! 'Tis that time once again. A new month. A new Imaginisce sketch challenge.

I love this sketch and think you could do so many different things with it. Thanks to Cindy Stevens for this fabulous design.

I decided to use some of the yummy Imaginisce's Apple Cider collection - it's just so warm & inviting. However, my photos are not fall related AT ALL!!! Which I love. This paper is so versatile!! I used a photo of my kiddos from this past summer and it all just works (at least I think so! LOL!). And as you can see I switched my title & journaling strips to go above my photo rather than below - it just fit better with the view point/angle of my photo.

And here's a closer look.
Supplies used: Imaginisce (Apple Cider collection: papers, chipboard, ribbon), Imaginisce flowers, i-rock too & rocks in brass and gold colors; Core'dinations cardstock

Do you wanna play along with the sketch challenge?
Well hop on over to the Imaginisce blog where you will find all of the details on the challenge and what you need to do in order to win an awesome prize!!!

Have fun and have a super weekend.
I'm going to be enjoying myself teaching some classes at the BC's Crop for Kids all weekend.
